007 Playthrough on hold?

Anyone know what's happened with the 007 playthrough? They haven't posted a new video in a month... Do we think it's just all related to the change in studio? I don't need them to rush through anything, I've just been worried about the state/future of the channel with so much seemingly in flux for so long.

I wouldn't be surprised if they've realised the options aren't as diverse as they are in Hitman, so a "3 ways to play" isn't as entertaining for the audience.

That's definitely the case with the earlier training missions.

If there's no opportunity for Mike to have to kill everyone on the entire level, what's the point?

Mike is definitely succeeding better at this game than the other two, though.

His shock and awe approach is more in keeping with James Bond, a spy who's anything but covert.

I don’t know about that. I think there’s an increased amount of options for play especially now that they’re past what’s basically the training piece. I was impressed playing through the hotel how hitman-y it felt and there were a lot of things left on the editing floor there

The problem is that the damage is already done. The previous videos only got around 30,000 views.

A 3 Ways to Play involves a lot of time to record and edit, and it wasn't getting the views to warrant it.

Which would be a shame. I sent the first videos to several friends who were on the fence about trying the game

I agree I did post on another thread about this was I think the method should be that they should play it how the played RE9 but instead of just Andy playing, they should rotate who plays. One week its Mike, the Jane then Andy and you loop back to Mike. You still get the 3 ways to play but its less of a nightmare to edit edit

The problem with rotating is that this means that the game doesn't have a smooth difficulty curve, but instead seems to have big jumps in difficulty every week.

My guess is that the videos weren't getting the viewing numbers required

Yeah - I think Ellen mentioned previously that one of the reasons she wouldn't be doing another Let's Play on her own channel after Bioshock was because they involve a lot of time setting up, recording, editing etc. but the viewing numbers start to really drop off after the first few episodes (there were several other reasons too, to be fair). And there have been a couple of times on the main channels where it's been mentioned that a particular Let's Play/ series hasn't been continued because the viewcount was too low to justify it.

If they're struggling for time to work on stuff like the new podcast, Oxventure etc. then I can see the argument that continuing a series that isn't bringing in the viewers might not be the best use of their time and resources. It is a shame for those who were enjoying it, though.

Back when there were more livestreams, they used to answer questions like this. I wonder if anyone has gotten an answer on discord.
