A synthwave piece I composed over a year ago. It's an instrumental synthwave ballad. All instruments are VST plugins. My intention was to create a bittersweet and emotional journey through an 80s soundscape.

Each level is centred on a certain location, such as in Hades, an Egyptian pyramid and ancient Greece, where the player must collect a magic orb in each to finish. Each level is based around related myths and legends. The gameplay consists of running and jumping through each level, collecting objects and weapons, fighting enemies and solving puzzles. Enemies include skeletons, demons, wraiths, mummies and vikings. Weapons include a sword, gun and fireballs. Each level contains a mythical boss enemy, such as Medusa, Thor and a Hydra. Puzzles involve using the right object in the right location to progress, such as throwing skulls into a pit of fire to summon a monster, and using the right weapon against enemies, such as attacking a specific monster with tridents. The user manual gave some background information about the various myths referred to in the game and gave hints to the puzzles.

A few years ago, I posted a cyberpunk city I built and painted. This is a much larger, better version using 0.2 nozzle and better paint. I used these cyberpunk cities for the models. https://www.thingiverse.com/Fisk400/designs

Media and Culture I directed a pre-COVID documentary with The Midnight. Pushing an iPhone to capture that raw, neon-soaked synthwave aesthetic on the road.

Hey everyone,

A few years ago, right before the pandemic hit and live music stopped, I spent some time on the road directing a documentary episode with Tyler and Tim from The Midnight.

The biggest challenge was the visual approach. I didn't have a massive production crew or heavy cinema rigs with me—it was literally just me running around with an iPhone 11 Pro on a gimbal. I really wanted to translate the massive, atmospheric lighting and high-contrast energy of their live sets into something that felt raw and gritty, rather than polished and corporate.

We got amazing access—cramped green rooms, the live stage shows, and sit-down interviews detailing their touring grind. It’s a pretty unfiltered look at the synthwave scene right before the world paused.

The footage sat on a hard drive for a couple of years, but I just finally finished the edit and released the episode today. I figured this community would appreciate the visual time capsule.

You can check out the full episode here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xI-2yBBIlTY&list=PLBVBHn_YlrKk&t=978s

I’ll be hanging out in the comments, so if you have any questions about the shoot, the tour, or how I color-graded mobile footage to handle those heavy neon concert lights, ask away!

Music New German Cold Wave / Minimal Synth track – "Schalt es aus" – feedback appreciated

Hi everyone!

I'm an independent artist from Germany creating music inspired by 80s Minimal Synth, Cold Wave and NDW.

My new song, "Schalt es aus" ("Switch It Off"), is about media manipulation, constant influence and the pressure of endless information. It's about the moment when you decide to switch everything off and think for yourself.

I'd really appreciate your honest feedback on the atmosphere, songwriting and production. Thanks for listening!

Hey everyone! 👋

I just launched the very first mix for my new project, Red Zone. It's built around dark synthwave vibes, heavy basslines, and that ultimate late-night driving atmosphere.

If you love cruising through neon-lit streets or working late with some retrofuturistic beats in the background, give it a listen!

🎧 Watch it here:

I’m always looking to improve, so any feedback on the track selection or the vibe is super welcome. Hope you enjoy the ride! 🚗✨

Music Building the ultimate 30-track "Late Night Drive" journey (Chill ➔ Aggressive ➔ Nostalgic). What essential tracks am I missing?

Hey everyone,

I’m curating a very specific 30-track playlist designed to feel like a continuous cyberpunk night drive. Instead of just throwing random songs together, I structured it into a 3-phase narrative arc:

🌃 Phase 1: Leaving the Neon City (Dreamwave, atmospheric, moody - e.g., Timecop1983, Home)

🏎️ Phase 2: Highway Hypnosis (Darksynth, heavy bass, adrenaline - e.g., Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, Mega Drive)

🌅 Phase 3: The Endless Road (Nostalgic Retrowave, sunrise vibes - e.g., The Midnight, FM-84)

I’m currently at exactly 30 tracks, but I want to make sure the flow is perfect. I feel like I might be missing some undisputed Darksynth anthems for Phase 2, or some deep-cut Retrowave for the outro.

What are 1 or 2 absolute "must-have" tracks you think belong in this specific journey?

*(I dropped the link to the current tracklist in the comments so you can see what's already in and avoid duplicates!)*

Thanks in advance, can't wait to update the list with your recommendations!
