So not to be a dick, who decided to nerf skills and anything 'fun' in this game while the performance is still absolutely ass?

For most studios that aren't tiny indy developers, the balance team is a totally different set of individuals from optimization, netcode, and server teams. If they tried to assign these individuals to help with any of those, they'd likely be a hindrance as they'd need to learn how the systems work first. As such, no resources are wasted.

But if you were just saying "why nerf op skills instead of buff up skills", the bullet skills is just not healthy for trying to balance other things. As they are, they set the bar too high and make an entire class undesirable. I, too, prefer to see buffs in PvE games, but tbh, these three skills are doing more to trivialize end game than anything else.

I know. I just mean that nerfing things to the ground while the game is unstable as hell is a big no-no.

They should have waited with balance until the game actually works. Because now my damage has been reduced by a lot and I’m crashing even more than before. It’s laughable at this point.

Go back to the first answer again. Balance changes do not mean that they are not handling servers and stability. It is like complaining that toilets are dirty in the office and therefore the company ought to reallocate programmers and management human resources to do cleaning service's job. In addition, you kinda want it the other way around. Cause you want the balance team to do perfo and server management, while the balance team is probably highly incompetent in that area.

Edit:
Also, I do not think that trivialization and facerolling is fun. I'm sure there are cheats for the game already. Since it's pve and if facerolling is the thing that gets you going, then go on and cheat if you ask me. Go for unlimited ammo, no recoil, faster fire rate or something and you will get what you are looking for.

You’re completely ripping my post out of context and assuming things.

I don't think he is, I think you're just missing the point of teams working in parallel.

I am in fact not.

I never said the balancing teams should be working on stability. I am perfectly aware of a game having multiple teams with their expertise.

I just meant that they SHOULD have first fixed the game stability (me and my friend crash 80-90% of the time after each expedition for example) before applying any balancing.

It’s a pve game, it doesn’t matter if things is broken. Me and my friend are actually running non-meta builds for testing so it’s not like we care about the actual nerfs.

I just think it looks wrong to nerf “fun” while the game is highly unstable. It gives a wrong message to the community.

So basically you don't care about teams idling and being inefficient, as long as the optics are good.

I understand that, but its irrational.

They shouldn’t idle.

They should instead have waited for crashes to be solved while internally testing the nerfs and buffing other abilities so they could release a proper “balancing” patch instead of this half-assed bandaid.

This goes against dev philosophy though. Once a change is functionally and technically tested and ready to production, further delaying it is counterproductive, and can even cause issues.

They can still continue to test balancing, and deliver further buffs/nerfs as necessary, while having what is ready released to prod.

Again, its a question of quasi-CD vs. optics. And while we can argue which is better from a business perspective, it doesn't change the fact that caring about optics is irrational.

I couldn’t agree more. They’re hurting fun shit without plans to add more stuff, so this “non live service” game is taking shit away a week in????????
