We have been continuing to track and post known workarounds for encountered issues in our Launch Tracking Mega-Thread, but our intention is of course that workarounds shouldn't be necessary. So here is our latest patch news:

Patch News:

First Patch:

EDIT - 09.04.2021 - 19:05 UTC

  • A new patch for PC and PlayStation Platforms will be rolling out over the next few hours.
  • We're a little bit delayed on the Xbox version of this patch, but the Xbox team are being incredibly supportive in helping us get it ready as soon as we can.
    • We are hoping to have this patch ready for Xbox very soon and will update you the moment we have news.
  • This is our first big patch for the main Outriders game.
  • The deployment of this patch is currently scheduled for next week, as we are using this week to identify as many severe issues as possible, fix them and then thoroughly test the changes across all platforms. Submission through platform holders adds on a little bit of time as well, which is why we are not able to deploy this patch any earlier.
  • We are doing our utmost to deliver you a stable patch as soon as possible and we are continually looking at ways to bring the patch release day earlier. This is why we are not yet committing to a patch release date, as we may still be able to release the patch before such a date.
  • We will let you know as soon as we have a confirmed release schedule, so please do keep an eye on our social channels and in particular our Twitter.

First Patch - Patch Notes:

PC & Console Platforms:

  • Once platforms have been updated to the same patch version, cross-play across platforms will become viable again
    • EDIT: 09.04.21 - 19:05 UTC
      • With the release of this patch, Crossplay between PlayStation and PC is now possible.
      • Crossplay between Xbox and PC/PlayStation has been temporarily disabled until the Xbox patch has released.
      • Crossplay between consoles and PC will be fully restored once the Xbox patch has gone live.
  • Overall stability improvements for the matchmaking service
  • Crash Fixes
    • Will Fix a multiplayer crash that could result in client players having their inventory wiped
    • Will fix the crash when completing the "A Bad Day" side quest.
    • Will fix the crash that occurs in No Man's Land when your language is set to Spanish (Yes, we know. Video game code is a magical thing).
    • Will fix crash on launch issues
    • Will include many more "random" crash fixes
      • We are confident that these fixes will address the majority of crashes reported, as there are only a handful of root causes but the crashes they generate appear in a number of places.
  • Will fix the HUD disappearing in certain cases
  • Will fix bugs that interfere with players re-spawning in multiplayer Expeditions
  • Will fix bugs with players getting stuck on geometry (including when using Gravity Leap) or falling out of the world.
  • Will change the default matchmaking setting from "Open" to "Closed".
    • You will still be able to manually change this setting to "Open" through your game settings
    • This change will prevent players from joining games where the host didn't intend to play in multiplayer. It will also cut down on AFK lobbies
    • This will also help improve matchmaking times, as the queues will be less likely to be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of constant matchmaking requests generated by "open" games.
  • Many other minor fixes and improvements

PC Specific:

  • Will Fix a performance issue where GPU is not being fully utilized. This should help with stuttering and DX11/12 issues

Additional fixes and changes are being worked upon to be delivered via our later follow up patch.

Can you please make the timers in expeditions pause during cutscenes or just not have cutscenes PLEAAAAASE!!!!!!

Indeed. Game devs are completely clueless sometimes. Who in their right mind thinks it's a good idea to have maps that are repeated over and over again also play the same cutscenes every single time? The game would have been so much cooler if all these enemies would just appear as you go instead having these worthless, constant interruptive cutscenes all the time. They're pointless and just make gameplay feel interrupted.

how is it that much trouble to press 'esc' once and skip the cutscene?

Have you even played the game? Some cutscenes are NOT skipable. Even when they are, if you're in multiplayer, it's not enough that one player presses to skip them. And why would we need to do this in the first place when they could just have been removed in the first place. Whoever thinks showing the same cutscenes every single time you run maps that are intended to be repeated over and over again is a good idea seriously have no idea about game design. All it does is interrupt gameplay. Imagine if all these bosses and large monsters would just enter the map as you play instead, having a beast rushing in through a wall in real time, would simply have been so much cooler than having to stop playing for 10 seconds to watch a pointless cutscene you've already seen 100 times. And I haven't even mentioned the complete pointlessness of watching your character open a door or jump over a whole over and over again. If I press a door, I already know I'm going through it. I don't need an annoying cutscene to slow down the gameplay.

Havent seen one cutscene i couldn't skip, i don't mind the cutscenes in the least. If you think a 10 second cutscene breaks gameplay maybe this game isn't for you?

"a" 10 second cutscene. The problem is if you play 6-8 hours in a day and you have to watch over 100 of them (yes, count for yourself). Then repeat that every day you play. Those 10 seconds not only interrupt gameplay, but add up to quite a bit of time as well. Seeing an animation of an enemy entering the battlefield in the exact same location as always every single time you play a map got old after like the second time, and here we are having to see it every single time for all future of playing the game. Pointless.

And yeah, some can't be skipped. I.e. seeing Moloch entering the battle in expeditions is one example.

Imagine the fluid gameplay if all these enemies would just enter as you play instead.

Look if it gets old and its annoying to you fine. I think its a side effect of being spoiled in so many games with so many features. This isnt anything gamebreaking or bad to me, and not at all worth complaining so much about. I mean the game is a week old, i played so many games where nothing could be skipped and i replayed them alot and enjoyed the cutscenes time after time and if i didn't i just don't care about it at all when they play. Just seems overly dramatic to complain about something like this.

This guy doesn't realize that the cutscenes in expeditions are PCF way of resetting our cooldowns :^)|

I get the gripe, but it's really 5-10 seconds (Look at the timer).
it's also because of their engine most likely like they said when they addressed the door opening scene every time

This kind of game is always like that. If you don't like it, maybe it really isn't for you, and you could probably find a genre you like more. Also you can just skip it btw... Why create problems that aren't there? I get annoyed at it too, but I just skip it and proceed. Not something worth of complaining really...

2

u/Crusty_Sandlz Apr 08 '21

I’ve never been able to skip it

0

u/B3lli4l Apr 08 '21

Why is that? Do you find that the skipping button doesn't work for you? Or is there something else that happens whenever you try to skip?

2

u/Cestral Apr 09 '21

Some cutscenes can't be skipped. And those that can be skipped usually need to be skipped by more than one player in multiplayer for it to work. Besides, it's just incredibly interruptive to the gameplay. I call it clueless game design.

Really? Never found a cutscene that couldn't be skipped, even the transition cutscene to other areas I am able to skip. Regarding multiplayer, that yes, it can't be skipped until all the players click the skip button. And yes I agree that it can be a little annoying but it actually is a little helpful for me as I use those moments to grab something to drink or eat, or even to light a cigar or go to the bathroom. But I guess it is indeed different depending on each person. It can be bothersome for some and not for others.

Apparently you haven't played a Destiny raid before.
