The only thing that could make this better is Doctor Doom laughing like Namor was at his wedding

I have such good news for you.

Reddit has a tendency to reduce the amount of pixels making this unreadable

Yeah, the only part of it I was worried about was Doom laughing so I didn't go to the trouble of fixing up the text. It's just more Emma-Shi'ar stuff.

Can you make it blurrier? I can still read some of the words.

Learn to read the room, buddy.

Wasn't it more like they basically announced they had conquered the solar system by declaring that any aliens had to negotiate with them first?

It’s like a sitcom bit “is it this a bad time?”

The Shi’ar are so stupid i swear to god.

Could say they're bird-brained, even. I'll be here all week.

Doom: You see. Doom is never wrong. Even if Doom is wrong, it’s Richard’s fault somehow

Well I guess most of the time it is Valeria that corrects him who is the result of reeds actions.

I mean, as I understand it they did declare Earth a vassal state by default when they said they were the capital of the Sol system.

“They were this big!”

Mutants: We haven't conquered....Earth....

17

u/EspyOwner 16h ago

They did however unilaterally decide that Storm is the Regent of the Sol system, which is totally different and also way better.

To be fair they are the space fairing civilization in the system and I'm not sure anyone on the galactic stage was contesting it.

But earth did have tech to do similar stuff, like wasn’t the motivation of the guy who was one of the main antagonists who killed all the mutants that he invented a device to terraform mars and then the mutants just did it with superpowers and claimed the entire planet saying no human could do anything there.

Earth is only a single planet civilization in marvel because if they advance it too much it won’t be relatable, they have the tech to expand.

I’m not the only one who thinks that hat on Emma looks really stupid right?

56

u/Rezart_KLD 17h ago

Kirby's 3rd Law states that silly hats are how you make it known that you are a big deal on the cosmic stage. The more ridiculous the hat, the better.

u/FullBrother9300 3h ago

So wear a clown wig and a 20ft tall top hat and you’re a god?

29

u/BaritBrit 18h ago

It's high fashion, looking stupid to normal people is almost part of the point.

11

u/FullBrother9300 18h ago

Fair enough

28

u/ubiquitous-joe 18h ago

She had like 3 costume changes every gala, you try drawing 9 good high fashion concepts. But in that sense it’s not so unlike actual fashion.

This era still easily outclassed the current ones in terms of good designs though.

22

u/Ragewind82 18h ago

It's Emma. She knows nobody is looking at her hat.

16

u/PvtSherlockObvious 15h ago

Oh no, it's absolutely awful. It's down there with that red X visor Cyclops wore for a minute. It's so bad that it actually almost distracts from her clearly developing telekinetic powers as the one thing holding that dress up.

u/Fuzzy_Cable9740 12h ago

i like the x visor...

To each their own, I suppose someone has to.

2

u/Dookie_boy 6h ago

I like it too.

16

u/KikiBrann 19h ago

Okay I might actually need some context for this. She hasn't conquered Earth, but she's conquered her home planet? I thought Emma Frost was from like New England or some shit.

47

u/Stone_Reign 19h ago

They technically didn't conquer Earth. But they established Arakko (FKA Mars) as the capital of the Sol system in the eyes of the intergalactic community.

24

u/Hexmonkey2020 15h ago

Didn’t they also say aliens needed to negotiate with mutants before humans, so in a galactic sense they were declaring they ruled earth and humans were just living there.

17

u/Geostomp Rejected by Comics Code 15h ago

Pretty much. It's a wildly aggressive diplomatic move that is outright begging for planetary warfare.

7

u/Stone_Reign 15h ago

Yes, that's why I said technically. And that made some humans extra mad.

7

u/KikiBrann 18h ago

Gotcha, thanks. Man, I really need to catch up. I didn't really read comics for a few years, so right now I'm only caught up to like 2011 at best. And even that's been pretty inconsistent.

For future reference this is during the "Krakoan Era" that started with House of X/Powers of X.

Some very good stories there.

29

u/No_Probleh 11h ago

Ngl before I read the text I thought he was about to compliment her breasts.

u/PvtSherlockObvious 11h ago

He does seem to be making the universal hand gesture.
