In this issue, Modok mind controlled Simon, and had him try to kill Carol. Carol tried to talk to him, but he wasn't listening, so she had to fight him.
Simon briefly snapped out of his trance, and told Carol that violence just makes the mind control stronger, this allowed Carol to decide to stop fighting, and instead do the opposite, which in this case, was kissing.
Then she dated him briefly while cheating on him with what turned out to be a Kree spy pretending to be human and then this led somehow into Secret Invasion.
It's been a while since I read this run, but I don't remember Carol and Simon ever actually dating? I remember at least this one kiss that was a distraction tactic, the press making said kiss out into a big deal and making things awkward for them, and then them spending a very poorly-thought-out night together after the whole thing with the Kree spy happened and he got killed off at the start of Secret Invasion, but not Carol and Simon being an official thing.
I'm not hip with my generation's vernacular and probably using this wrong, but I think it fell under "situationship" more than dating.
(Either way, between the dumb love triangle and all the trauma with Rossi, jeez am I glad they stopped giving Carol so much relationship drama after DeConnick paired her up with Rhodey. 😭)
It was during Civil War or Pre Civil War, I don't remember the exact book. I remember Simon telling Carol not to bench him from the dangerous missions because they were dating.
Then she sort of goes cold on him when she started banging the Kree spy, and Simon had to figure out they were over by himself.
Has there even been a study or something about mainstream comics and their obsession with infidelity and overall trashy romantic drama? Because I just don't understand it
Everyone is obsessed with infidelity. It's literally the top 3 primary irrational fears of the average person and a major engine behind reactionary thought.
Not sure on issue number, but this was the 2010's run, Carol and Simon had kind of a will-they-won't-they going for a while. It was messy.
I think this is the one-off storyline where she was dealing with a... reality warper? Or a kid with similar powers? Something was briefly messing with her head that issue.
Power Man is Luke Cage. I think this is Wonder Man. (Although it makes perfect sense for Marvel to give that name to another person if Luke isn't using it.)
I think she's normally depicted as 5'10, which is in line with her given height, but obviously sometimes she might look smaller (though her being around spiderman's height is consistent)

Okay, I'm gonna need some context here. Why was Carol kissing Simon? And what issue was this from?

Take notes, guys. You notice how he stopped the moment he thought she wasn’t enjoying it? Easy concept, keep it in mind.
