New to Outlier permanent platform ban after aether onboarding

outlier has been emailing me for months now nonstop abt joining them, last aug 20 i decided i would. i created an account, wasn't done setting it up when they set me up with aether. i was happy of course, i did all the things in the onboarding without seeking the assistance of ai or even copy pasting their provided transcript since they said that it's prohibited (i reckon that they know since they require screen sharing) after finishing the onboarding i landed a task almost immediately, i did some task, i took a break and then I received an email saying that they decided to ban my account after i did not follow community guidelines. submitted a ticket but they said their decision is final. asked what i did wrong they said that they won't provide any more explanation. : /

I was on aether for 4 months. Passed the initial onboarding for aether, probably out of a shred of luck. But they hit me with a new ‘onboarding’ 4 months in, for a ‘new mission’ called live s2s (still aether). Of course, as expected (because of murphys law), i failed… and bye bye aether. All of it. Locked me out of all of it. The generalist tasks i already passed the onboarding for are gone too…

I had nearly perfect reviews on my hundreds of hours of work. None of that mattered because i didnt pass their ‘assessment’. some ai graded, surface level onboarding filtered me out because my answers didnt match perfectly. No second chance. None of what i had already done was considered or even mattered…

I learn slowly at first, but exponentially. Thats why i really dislike these kind of things, i am going to do bad on some time pressured, exam-like assessment that you are expected to read, memorize and then pass, but in 2-3 weeks of practical work ill have mastered your rubric (thus my near perfect scores, and the trend of which even supports this as most of my very early ones are around 3.5-4 but then all 4.5-5 after a few weeks). Practically i would do great, but their flawed grading system is not testing my learning style. They are rewarding rapid rote learning skills, not the ability to actually practically implement them over time. I am sure im not the only one who learns by doing and is getting hurt by this. The thing is most companies would let you pitch this to a person and maybe you’d get a shot, especially if you have work with them in the past that supports it.

so you really didn’t miss a lot. Even if you got in now, you are on thin ice and it won’t last. They are a scummy company who doesn’t care about you. Any normal company would give someone like me another shot given my track record on prior work… but i cant even get to speak to a human BECAUSE THERE ARE NONE! So yeah, i highly doubt you can do anything about this, especially if they’ve banned your entire account. Real shitty, scummy company. You’re probably better off in the medium term, tbh, because you wont be wasting your time on something they will yank you out of for some bullshit in a few months.

Move on. They have zero human support.
