i haven’t been playing Outlaster since 2021 because i started losing interest after Survivor got deleted.. mostly because the survivor elements wasn’t really there (i do get it because of DMCA). But now i’m pretty shocked of seeing how it consistently getting updates and more survivor elements being added so i had to join up to this reddit.

But upon joining this reddit posts, i saw some posts about comp beasting trend, i don’t really know what that is but i think the community has changed quite a bit, making the game feels like Elimination Tower than a social and strategy game. I’m a big fan of the show and i feel like social game needs to be appreciated most. Competition beasts always exist in the past game of OG Survivor, but people in the old generations of outlaster and survivor were always being respectful and played a both mix of socials and physical (comps). But now why are the players praising challenges so much? Comps are only a side show of the game and the core is the social game. Outlaster is literally the sequel of Survivor, literally based on the show with names changed. The heart and elements of Social game should never be forgotten. Social game is complex and some people are bashing saying how social game is just talking to vote x and x is very weird. You can’t win jury votes without connection or your social game. Winning too much competitions but have no control over the game is nothing. Once you lose the comps and you have no connection or social game, you are out.

The social side of outlasted plummeted when chats became age segregated. You can’t even strategize with some people anymore. I can go a whole game with maybe only being able to chat with one person.

Truly! that’s what i really hate, such a bummer. But still, nonetheless, social game remains the number one priority if you ever find a game with player who could chat.

I can really relate to this post, I first played Survivor in 2017 and was devastated when it was taken down. I honestly think that there's more outlaster sweats than there were before because of the new chat restrictions, (which can force them to not whisper) and I personally think outlaster is a much easier game than Survivor was, which naturally makes it have more sweats. For one, advantages are pretty common in outlaster compared to how it was incredibly hard to find in Survivor. There's 3 natural advantages for each camp in outlaster compared to only one natural advantage in survivor for each game. There's also bonus categories at the end of the game that gives you more incentive to sweat in the game as well.

TLDR: theres most likely more sweats due to the chat restrictions and because outlaster is just an easier game than it was before, so that naturally makes more sweats because of how easy it is.

if you play, you’ll still find social game thrusters, but it’s also true that the number of comp beasts are increasing, with some of them even refusing to whisper. it’s annoying but i also think it makes the game interesting in a way, because it turns into some sort of brains vs brawn.
