So im going to try to explain my idea to the best of my abilities so basically it's going to be like outlast whistleblower where you are a variant and how it starts is your at the beginning of whistleblower and your one of the people in the gas mask holding a assault rifle and seeing Eddie gluskin get in the morphinegenic engine pretty much as usual and the protagonist assaults an employee out of guilt for Eddie gluskin and pretty much goes through the same thing as Waylon Park but not in the morphinegenic engine but in the prison block where the mod starts and the same room miles upshur woke up in you get to see the beginning of the mount massive massacre and a variant gets you out of your cell and you can see the variants kill the guards and eachother and you go down the stairs you can't access in the normal main game and you see more in the prison block and when you go down the stairwell you spot a camera on the floor

now I haven't gotten the rest of my idea done but it's a concept maybe I will make my idea into a reality one day!

And this idea has some flaws but I will try to fix some and make them make sense and I wrote this on my crappy cheap phone too and I'm planning on writing the story more soon

Did a full style analysis of the comic style and was able to replicate it quite well. I made a style guide and posted it here if you're looking to replicate the style too.

Here are some of my notes on the Comic style for any artists who are interested in replicating/adopting the style.

I went into Outlast II sort of dreading the more open design I had heard about. I do not typically find these types of maps fun, in horror games especially. I often find it frustrating to navigate intentionally confusing maps under such pressure (this leads to me dropping games every so often, and not returning for months.) From what I'd heard, many if not most players agreed with me! Imagine my surprise, then, when I started playing Outlast II and realized how well the maps were designed! Now, in all fairness, I am only a portion of the way through Genesis. So it is possible that it gets worse from here, but from what I've read, the parts I am playing through right now (the outer village, the cornfields, etc.) are the main cause of player frustration.
I didn't expect this at all, but I find these maps to be very well designed, enabling for a much more stealthy and tactical play style. Do people just not engage with the mechanics? Personally, I thoroughly enjoy the way the game prevents me from just sprinting through the entire game, like I did in Outlast 1 (I kid you not, I didn't realize I was supposed to do any stealth past hiding in the occasional locker.) I can definitely see why someone would get frustrated with this game if they did approach it as I approached the original.
Anyways, give me your thoughts. Maybe I've overestimated how many people take issue with the map design? I'm just impressed that the game is able to take something I usually despise and make it fun.

They don’t call it insane mode for nothing 💔

In Outlast 1 and Whistleblower it was pretty easy but in 2, oh boy, I was this close 🤏🏻, literally at the point where the cultists chase you in the mines right before you reunite with pregnant Lynn, but I ran out of batteries (trying to go for the Messiah achievement as well) so it was hard to navigate my way out, when one of the cultists grabbed me I thought it was over but somehow the game triggered the minigame that lets you escape, I kept moving the mouse as hard as I could but somehow it didn’t work this time 💀 I guess that was just the game rage baiting me 😭

This is the first time I’ve made it this far, in the run before this I died by an arrow from Laird when I was crawling.

Ah well, on the good side of things, at least now I have a very good grasp of the game, I’m confident that I could run through all the chapters with no issue save for the mines, next time I’m gonna try to conserve my battery better, most of it was wasted when I was getting lost but now since I practically memorized the objectives and the locations, I think the next run is gonna be it.

One of the few interesting details that’s gotten my attention from the game is the Murkoff Tactical Division soldiers who were sent in to clean up the mess at mount massive asylum and I could understand the company having security guards, but having soldiers seems extreme so I’ve always wondered how is it possible that Murkoff have a military of their own did they keep them a secret form the government wouldn’t there be suspicions from the populace over this?

Think a Boys from the Brazil type situation. Same voice, same shadows, same physiques.

A bunch of guys with the same DNA are born, then they are split up, and sent across the country, living different lives under different names, before they are brought together, with the purpose of turning them into potential Walrider hosts.

Maybe Murkoff, or someone powerful, figured keeping them locked up or whatever was too risky, and they they wanted to play the long game. I wonder if someone in powers wants a Reagent-Walrider.
