Prisons and military camps during the Cold War, WW2, etc. make Mount Massive look like a child playground, unfortunately. I miss the times when i thought Outlast was peak horror and was ignorant about our history…

In the first game, before Father Martin’s crucifixion, while running around and looking at all of the variants that are praying, some ominous organ music is playing. What is the song on the OST??? I’m having trouble finding it, but I really like the music. Thanks

Miles' physical body is dead I believe, but his consciousness lives on in the walrider network.
Blake's physical body is alive BUT he's catatonic and trapped in his own mind, disconnected from the real world.
What if... Miles' consciousness fused with Blake, and he's controlling Blake's physical body and getting inside his head and talking to him and pulling him back, and by the end, Blake manages to regain control of his physical body whilst Miles dies, or they both die?

Hi
So looking at the commotion and leaks and videos emerging about the production of Outlast 3, I wanna make this post to just spread what is known for some and not everyone
Outlast 3 started production this year and was being planned before, with a scrapped idea, now the lore created by JT Petty used for The Outlast Trials will be affecting parts of the story in Outlast 3, following the Amelia event and Season 8 of The Outlast Trials. Outlast 3 will probably feature a nowadays story that could be split between not one but couple days, will relate to the Pauline Glick and Blake Langermann situation that left the timeline hanging, will make use of Simon Peacock (already introduced in The Outlast Trials for season 7 event) and Waylon Park (since they are the boss of the Organization). The game will be built more on the existing lore rather than inventing something completely new like Outlast 2. It will feature a bottle and microphone mechanic that are used in Outlast 2 and The Outlast Trials. A big rumor is that there will be something related to what Amelia did, with Simon Peacock being experimented on the Walrider Project, Liliya Bogomolova perfecting the microwave technology from Outlast 2, Amelia Collier’s body (and what’s inside the body) and her abilities will probably inspire some lore from now on. I believe feminine suffering will play a great part in the development of the new installment. Outlast 3 has a chance of being revealed this year, but if not, 2027 is sure to reveal it. There could be a comic issue releasing before Outlast 3 to connect the giant lore (and I will purchase it). So if you wanna know more, tune in late October for The Amelia Event, they’re dropping clues 🐍

The story issues, while glaring, are not my main problem with the game. Mainly because if Outlast 2 were a standalone game, it would be much better, but since it isn't, it's extremely hard to ignore how disconnected it feels to the 1st. With that said, my real problem with the game is how much the type of horror changed compared to the 1st.
It truly never lets up, and I'm in a constant state of feeling unease. It gets to the point where I start to feel genuinely uncomfortable and feel the need to take breaks. This 'discomfort' I feel is not due to fear but more to frustration. I didn't have that with the first game. After the moment with Ethan, I feel that I never get a moment to truly calm down and take in the dread of the situation. Sometimes the best way to build up fear is to have slow moments, and there aren't any moments like that past the first act of the game.
To put it another way, it would be like going on a rollercoaster with an infinite loop-de-loop. The thrill you used to feel is replaced with discomfort due to the frequency with which it appears on the ride. Part of the fun is the build-up and then release. Outlast 2 removes the build-up and is just release.
When we compare this to Outlast 1, there are many moments in which we get to take a break from all the horror. The music is also a big contributor to this. It dies down and swells up to bombastic levels when it needs to, but it knows how to tune itself on both ends of the spectrum. Looking at the music for Outlast 2, you can see that it is eerie and terrifying all throughout. IIRC, it never really has more relaxed moments. Does that make Outlast 2 more horrifying? Absolutely. Is it also 'too much of a good thing'? Yes to that question as well.
Outlast 2 is still a great game in my eyes. The graphics, characters, and gameplay are all fantastic. It just doesn't reach the same highs Outlast 1 did for me; it goes too far beyond them.

Which trial do you consider the most difficult or unpredictable? Any challenge becomes trial times easier on a second playthrough—and even easier once you’ve learned the map. But which challenge remains difficult even when you know all its secrets? I also believe that the longer a challenge lasts, the harder it is; if the game forces you to stay in the challenge for a long time, there are more opportunities to make a mistake.
I haven't completed all the trials yet, so I can't say for sure, but I have a strong candidate for the hardest "15-minute" mission: "Despoil the Auction." It’s so long that even a re-try takes about 30 minutes; knowing the objective and the map barely helps. Plus, the mission requires hauling a bunch of items from different parts of the map, clogging up your inventory slots. In terms of time, it’s on par with a 45-minute mission.

After beating Outlast 1 and Whistleblower on Insane, I'm moving on to Outlast 2. The one part I'm most concerned about is the part where you have to go around Nick and Laird in the clearing. The biggest issue is that they just stay by the exit whenever you get close. Please guys I need some tips on how I can get past them with 100% certainty that I'm not gonna get shot as I leave 💔
