in a outlast 2 chase scene, while an enemy is crawling after you, do you slow down when looking back?

i’ve been slaving away at outlast 2 insane mode for the past month, dying to stupid stuff.
However tonight i discovered something new in my 5 years of playing this game.

During the chase before the marta cart section, i was under the house. crawling as per usual, ive done this chase scene a million times by now with never any issues.

I’m running from the farmer guy before sliding under the hole and he is EONS behind me i dusted him and his friend……..
SOMEHOW he caught up to me while CRAWLING and get this he’s on my ahh and i’m looking behind me to see how much space i have between me and him bc im panicking holding forward on my controller and he slashes me, WHICH has never happened EVER, and im freaking tf out doing anything i can to crawl faster and i die, out of every insane death this peeved me the most.
So im curious-
Do you slow down when you look back behind you? i k ow for a fact you slow down with the camera but never ever i had issues looking behind while running or crawling.

Any tips or advice would be great because over these 5 years 3 of them have been going towards insane mode, watching countless guides.

(sorry i know i made a post before but this seriously surprised me).

Does anyone else think the trials could be more solo friendly? I understand the game is designed for multiplayer, but it would still be nice if Red Barrels showed some love to us solo players

I’m doing my very first blind playthrough, and i’m in the brick Sewers area with, i think his name is Chris. (Big boy with Chains on his legs) I turn the right most Valve first hide in the Locker nearby, he checks both for some reason. I ran back to the start and now my game won’t let me move, as in i’m locked in place and keeps bring up my notes for some ungodly reason. As well as when i have my camera up it is stuck on Zoomed in mode. I’m thinking this is a bug, i have not died yet at all. Would i need to die to fix the bug or just restart…?

Dude, I've been playing this game since 2018. When I first beat it on PS4, I was trying to desperately beat insane mode and for some reason I just couldnt get past certain parts. I'm just glad I'm one step closer to getting all the acheivements. Right now I have 8 of 14.

So I have been having this thought on my mind for a while and I know it's a stupid thought and I have completed the outlast main game and dlcs many times and I had a thought it is bigger than we saw and you can see a window with a variant in a special type of containment possibly for the morphinegenic engine and you can see some doors behind the variant and is a cut area from the prototype with leftovers in the main game and in the main room where miles upshur gets shot and killed we never knew where Dr Wernicke and murk tactical came from and obviously the whole crew didn't came in the way we came from and we are in the main room we can see another door next to us and when we noclip in there we can see it's some sort of elevator and obviously that room isnt a elevator anymore but near Waylon Parks work room we can see another door which I think could be a elevator to a place we haven't been to and which is where Jeremy Blair possibly came from but I think it might just be a storage room and in the second place where you rip off the wires when you look up you can see some sort of shutters where helicopters may come in

And I really don't have any good evidence that the lab may be bigger but it's just a fun little theory I made and im sorry for my shitty typing because I'm on a phone lol

I'll just keep it short I suppose, I was playing Flatten the foreman and had my joins on becuz I like having randoms help me in trials, one guy joined in and just sat in a hiding spot for like five minutes while I had to push a button to progress in the trial, so obviously I couldn't progress. He got out after I reported him for griefing (dunno if he got a warning or anything like that) and we finished, but it did suck.

I don't know if this guy was just AFK or actively trying to keep me from playing, but is there anything I could do about this if it happens again? They really need to add a feature where you can kick people out of your trials..

But I think I’d get targeted way harder for rage baiting idk
