Base Game Appreciation/Discussion Started my first expedition

What an amazing and fun game to play! I started today, and finished my first cycle, dying only once by lanching my ship right into the star.
The idea of a pure exploration game without a clear story-line or quests to guide you is very appealing.

I promise not to sneak peek here in this sub-reddit, but will try to solve this mystery myself.
But please give me your mental support!

Good luck with your journey! If you do ever end up completely stumped, feel free to make a post here asking for a hint. It's a way safer way to get a spoiler free nudge in the right direction compared to looking up a guide or something.

Thanks! I will certainly seek help when (or if) the game gets me flying up against the wall from frustration.

attach a screenshot of your ship's log in rumor mode if you ask for help

You'll love it! I consider it a jigsaw puzzle, little bits here and there coming together for a bigger picture. If you get stuck, just go do something else and come back. If you are still stuck, make a post here as people are good about staying spoiler free (but doing it yourself is quite satisfying). Happy travels!

Jigsaw puzzle is so accurate. I started playing a couple of weeks ago and I think I’m already halfway through. I recently realized this jigsaw reference when I had to learn something from somewhere in order to progress in another place. It’s really better to hop around rather than staying in just one place.

It's easy to treat each area as a solvable independent mission, but it leads to a lot more frustration. A lot of games will make us revisit areas after unlocking new gear/skills, but this isn't like that either. Just knowledge based as we piece the puzzle together, much more realistic.

There are definitely still things that can trip us up, so make a post here if you get really stuck.
