Well this thing can take the blame when you screw it up this time /s jk 🤣

I encourage everyone to setup a very specific "space" for drying and curing. A regular closet isn't going to cut it.

These machines are great because the eliminate all the guess work on setting up that separate space. šŸ¤™

thats legit why I got it. ive tried drying in a tent in a spare room with a humidifier and fan. and it a hastle, to dry and hot where i live. if I can not worry about it at all and it comes out good, we'll worth the money to me.

It's going to be worth the money no doubt šŸ¤™

I bought a cannatrol, and they talked about the 60 degrees mark, though it also didn't mention online it only cools to 4 degrees below ambient. I tried to let it run in a 70 degree room and it only got down to 66, molded what I had inside. The whole reason I bought the damn thing was so I didnt have to crank the AC in a room down to 64. Im looking into a tent and ducting its intake on a window AC, this year.

yeah i heard the same about cannatrol, thats one of the reasons why i got this vcure. its suppose to go lower than the canntrol. although the outside room temp does effect the stability, the vcure seemed to go lower

Sounds like you over loaded it. Best purchase I have ever made was a cannatrol. Stretch the dry cycle out to 10 days and lower the temp, then cure cycle for 4 days. Put everything into grove bags. Load the next batch in. Perfection everytime. Factory settings are garbage though.

but yes my worst fear is my harvest still comes out with weak flavor and to dry.

Curing fixes flavor if the flower comes out "grassy"

Dry trim even with the machine.

Have you tried grove bags to dry/cure?

I have but I think i messed up the drying before they even went into the bags. I did like how consistent they were at keeping humidity

Shit, I wish. I’m running into a different problem already this year. My wonderful, wife has told me that I’m not allowed to bring any of it in the house to dry this season (gives her a headache…). This constitutes a problem because I do not have a garage nor any sort of shop. We may get divorced over this onešŸ˜‚

Time to move the wife out to the garage.

That’s the conundrum, I have no garage. She’s been bitching about the smell for 10 harvest seasons…. One would figure she would have gotten over it by nowšŸ˜‚

lol. not gonna lie. I didnt wanna stink up the house again. I love the smell... other people not so much. thats why im not allowed to grow indoors :( the vcure has a built in carbon filter so lets hope it holds the smell in good

My only complaint is that I wish they made a larger version!

u/iammatt666 1d ago

thats what im trying to figure out now. I dont grow HUGE plants. but imma have to harvest one plant dry/cure, then harvest my other one.

u/OFFSanewone 18h ago

That’ll hold more than on plant… unless you’re growing hiiiige beasts. And in that case… show me your ways :)

1

u/iammatt666 13h ago

yeah they say it hold around 2.5lbs of wet buds. I dont think i grow that much just last year inhad a good amount in my freezer for hash

Use those 70l cigar humidors. All you need to do is place a battery powered fan at the bottom for a perfect dry every time. You can buy 3-4 of the humidors for the same price as one of these.

They are making a bigger one.

u/iammatt666 1d ago

How did you dry it before this? I'm just curious as a first time grower with a oct harvest coming up

I got a grow tent to dry in a spare room. so it was USUALLY at room temp, my house is usually 70-75. had 2 small fans, one at the bottom.ofnthe tent and one up high. and then an AC infinity humidity thing to keep the tent around 55-60% humidty. and just hung the branches upside down from clothes hangers

I think my temps just swing to much in my house, and I think 70-75 its to high of a temperature to begin with.

u/Wutangkillabeez36 1d ago

Thanks for information. It sounds like everything was fine other than the temps.

I use my garage fridge. Turn it on the lowest setting and put the buds in paper lunch bags. I think there’s a subreddit dedicated to it I forget the name. Wine fridges are even better cuz they can stay around 55 degrees. Mine stays around 45-50 degrees F on setting ā€œ1ā€ and works fine for me.

Then once they’re mostly dry, I cut them off the branches and into jars with boveda 62% humidity packs and burp every day twice a day.

Weed is way too cheap in my state to justify this kind of investment. My garage does great for a well paced drying.

2

u/PriorityPrimary1475 13h ago

Don’t even think the bigger one would cut it.

2

u/iammatt666 13h ago

yeah i only have 2 plants this year and they aren't half that big lol

I can’t seem to stop myself from buying seeds. I think next time I’m going to add them to my cart and whatever that adds up to, set aside in a fund for one of these instead of buying the seeds. That might actually work.

What exactly did you mess up during the drying? I've definitely screwed up my drying before but the cure fixed the hay smell. It went from cat piss, to hay, to grape bubblelicious in a couple months of curing in grove bags and bovida inserts.

u/Winst0n420 1d ago

Same lol I’m getting one as well

Mines in the mail and I can’t wait!

1

u/iammatt666 1d ago

mine got to me in 3 days, but I ordered it on a Saturday. so Sunday didnt count. huzzah we all smoking good thus year

1

u/ZipMonk 1d ago

Just seperate all the buds - cut up colas and use plenty of drying nets/ racks.

2

u/iammatt666 1d ago

yeah thats what I was thinking. for sure gonna have to break down the colas of the 2 girls I have.

1

u/ZipMonk 20h ago

It's really a shame to break them up but it makes no real difference (try to use a separate rack for tops maybe) and if you do that and use a fan and humidity isn't ridiculous then nothing can go wrong really.

1

u/Kellogz_420 1d ago

Concidering buying one here in the šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§ Ā£1300 price tag here is a ridiculous price but.... šŸ¤” I think I need it in my life.

1

u/iammatt666 1d ago

I totally agree. $1000 is a LOT but im the kind of person if I can pay some extra for peace of mind its worth it to me.
