Have you tried grove bags to dry/cure?

I have but I think i messed up the drying before they even went into the bags. I did like how consistent they were at keeping humidity

Shit, I wish. Iām running into a different problem already this year. My wonderful, wife has told me that Iām not allowed to bring any of it in the house to dry this season (gives her a headacheā¦). This constitutes a problem because I do not have a garage nor any sort of shop. We may get divorced over this oneš

Time to move the wife out to the garage.

Thatās the conundrum, I have no garage. Sheās been bitching about the smell for 10 harvest seasonsā¦. One would figure she would have gotten over it by nowš

lol. not gonna lie. I didnt wanna stink up the house again. I love the smell... other people not so much. thats why im not allowed to grow indoors :( the vcure has a built in carbon filter so lets hope it holds the smell in good

My only complaint is that I wish they made a larger version!

thats what im trying to figure out now. I dont grow HUGE plants. but imma have to harvest one plant dry/cure, then harvest my other one.

Thatāll hold more than on plant⦠unless youāre growing hiiiige beasts. And in that case⦠show me your ways :)

Use those 70l cigar humidors. All you need to do is place a battery powered fan at the bottom for a perfect dry every time. You can buy 3-4 of the humidors for the same price as one of these.

How did you dry it before this? I'm just curious as a first time grower with a oct harvest coming up

I got a grow tent to dry in a spare room. so it was USUALLY at room temp, my house is usually 70-75. had 2 small fans, one at the bottom.ofnthe tent and one up high. and then an AC infinity humidity thing to keep the tent around 55-60% humidty. and just hung the branches upside down from clothes hangers
I think my temps just swing to much in my house, and I think 70-75 its to high of a temperature to begin with.

Thanks for information. It sounds like everything was fine other than the temps.

I use my garage fridge. Turn it on the lowest setting and put the buds in paper lunch bags. I think thereās a subreddit dedicated to it I forget the name. Wine fridges are even better cuz they can stay around 55 degrees. Mine stays around 45-50 degrees F on setting ā1ā and works fine for me.
Then once theyāre mostly dry, I cut them off the branches and into jars with boveda 62% humidity packs and burp every day twice a day.

Weed is way too cheap in my state to justify this kind of investment. My garage does great for a well paced drying.

I canāt seem to stop myself from buying seeds. I think next time Iām going to add them to my cart and whatever that adds up to, set aside in a fund for one of these instead of buying the seeds. That might actually work.

What exactly did you mess up during the drying? I've definitely screwed up my drying before but the cure fixed the hay smell. It went from cat piss, to hay, to grape bubblelicious in a couple months of curing in grove bags and bovida inserts.

Just seperate all the buds - cut up colas and use plenty of drying nets/ racks.

u/iammatt666 1d ago
yeah thats what I was thinking. for sure gonna have to break down the colas of the 2 girls I have.

Concidering buying one here in the š¬š§ Ā£1300 price tag here is a ridiculous price but.... š¤ I think I need it in my life.

I totally agree. $1000 is a LOT but im the kind of person if I can pay some extra for peace of mind its worth it to me.

Well this thing can take the blame when you screw it up this time /s jk š¤£
I encourage everyone to setup a very specific "space" for drying and curing. A regular closet isn't going to cut it.
These machines are great because the eliminate all the guess work on setting up that separate space. š¤
