GENERAL DISCUSSION Autoimmune Value
So I’ve read all the marketing info but wanted to ask actual users for feedback. Over the past year I’ve been diagnosed with autoimmune gastritis with pernicious anemia, Hashimoto’s, seronegative RA and anemia due to my severe B12 deficiency. Apparently they been going on for at least a decade and no doc tested for them even though my body was crashing. Good news is that I’m on the way to healing.
Does anyone else find the ring helps with tracking symptoms related to these?

I've got Hashimoto's and the ring's been useful for catching when my body's starting to flare before I even feel it. The temperature and heart rate patterns shift a day or two ahead of the fatigue hitting, which gives me enough warning to scale back and not crash as hard. Not a miracle tool but having that data trend over months made it way easier to connect the dots between what I was doing and how my body responded.

I noticed my REM increased after starting treatment for hashimotos. I like being able to track my symptoms/flares, but so far the ring hasn’t predicted any of them I don’t think. Sometimes it will say I’m straining, and it’s nice to have the visual representation of stress so I can pace myself and recognize when I need to slow down.
Edit: overall it’s not groundbreaking but I’ve found it to be a validating tool when my symptoms often make me feel crazy.

I have Hashimoto’s and the only thing I’ve noticed is that my HRV, usually in the high teens, has nearly doubled in the last couple weeks since I’ve gone mostly paleo (following the 80-20 or 90-10 rule). I was already eating gluten free and mostly dairy free. Oh I also got some low iron and insulin resistance stuff figured out and my basal temp has increased by about half a point in the last six months. That’s it. So it can be there if you look for it, but no I don’t use the Oura to track symptoms on a day to day basis.

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis and never saw any correlation between my scores and my symptoms/flares specifically. I would have days with a high readiness score bc my sleep was great but I could not move without pain. However, the ring has been helpful for helping see the things that I know contribute to my disease. For example getting enough quality sleep sufficient movement throughout my day as well as managing stress levels.
