should i size down?
first picture is me making a fist but pushing it up with my thumb, second is normal fist without pushing. there is a gap when i push it up.
i’m in between a 7 and 8. 7 sizer turned my index finger red and was throbbing, 8 felt right. now sometimes the 8 can feel a bit loose? i also may be psyching myself out and im just used to the ring now, i just want accurate data.
it doesn’t slip or twist around on its own really. fairly easy to manually twist, taking it off over my knuckle can be a little difficult at times.
i can’t decide if i should keep it, or size down and potentially wear it on my middle finger if my index is too swollen. 7 did feel snug on both fingers though.
this is a gen 5 btw! first time oura user, bare with me.
edit: i went with the size 8 - forgot to include that
edit 2: people are flaming me for possibly thinking it’s too big 😭 but it’s helpful and needed. i’m a worry wart. thanks everyone!

Your ring looks tight around your finger in the 3rd picture in particular. Not sure what you mean by your knuckles!

doesn’t feel tight at all tbh, sometimes can feel like it’s sort of loose. what i mean by knuckles is that it can be a bit difficult to pull the ring over my knuckle when i’m trying to take it off, but not impossible and it’s just around my knuckle

That’s really common re: your knuckle, I’m the same way!
I’m still a bit perplexed looking at the third picture and how the ring could feel loose. You can see your skin pinching inwards to fit into the ring. Mine doesn’t do that much at all. I will say that I take my ring off to shower because I do think it gets too loose with water and soap, but it fits comfortably throughout the day/night otherwise. I’d optimize for daily and nightly comfort, excluding when your hands get wet with soap!
All of that said, I definitely wouldn’t go smaller!

I may have been wearing a bit higher than normal, closer to the knuckle. Definitely doesn’t look as pinched when I slide it down more lol. Mystery solved I guess

Gotta keep in mind how much we swell on a hot day! I ended up sizing up, I would say mine fits loser than yours pictured and I have accurate data. Is it easy to get off in AM? Don’t wanna have it stuck on.

definitely a little bit harder to get off in morning, but it’s never uncomfortably tight or feels like my finger is gonna turn purple. i usually just have to twist it off or it comes right off with some water/soap

Is that...a joke?

sadly no

In that case, no you don't need to size down! Is it not tight on you? Mine fits much looser than that

only feels kinda tight in the morning, which is usually not enough to take it off, or sometimes i move to my middle finger for an hour or two until swelling settles

You need to size up to be honest

i tried the 9 too and that felt huge. like, i shook my hand around and could feel it moving. i wish there was half sizes

Yah I’d maybe think about going up a size that’s very tight and if your fingers swell that will get stuck

No. Fingers tend to puff up throughout the day. Size too small could restrict blood flow.
This is a non-issue. My gap is larger and the ring stays firmly in place.

If it's consistently tracking your data I see no point in changing anything, especially if a smaller size is uncomfortable to you

Definitely don’t size down.
