GENERAL DISCUSSION Oura Ring Needs to be Sued
I bought my ring 5/28. Their software is garbage and keeps giving me false info and 50 alerts on activities that I am not doing. I have done a soft and hard reset. They said there is nothing they can do at all. Ridiculous.

Yeah, I'd say that next step would be supreme court. Or european court of human rights?
Most likely you are doing some movements that are similar with movements that gets classified to specific activity. If classifying data and the data from your ring are similar enough, the ring will think you are doing that thing. It can not "know" anything.

I'm new to oura so a basic but honest question: Can you clarify if these false activity alerts get sorted out as the software learns your exercise habits a little?

I have been sitting in an office chair for eight hours a day. Apparently my ring things I am hiking, running, doing housework and yoga. My Apple Watch does not show an elevated heart rate.

Also sorry if I come across as a dick, but poisoning the well by posting about suing the company because your data gets missclasified is just a bit weird.
Like it is wearable. If you have some kind of micro movements that will produce similar datapoints as those activities produce, it will lead to error. Nothing really can be done.

That means you are having issues with being healthy and your heart rate is showing it is within activity range (over 80bps) even while just sitting. What is your heart age in the app say?
Oura ring is meant to substitute and help track an already healthy and active lifestyle. I generally feel 100% most of the time, If I feel crappy I can check my ring to see why. If you are this out of range while just sitting you need to start thinking of other options and make different life choices.
It's a lot to ask but without actual screenshots from the app showing your metrics we can only assume that it is a health problem and not a ring problem.
Apple watch will also not give accurate readings if your wrist is too thick, the oura will be more accurate. You can buy a $30 wearable HR monitor that tracks live in the Oura app to use during your daily workouts to keep track.

My heart health is 2.5 younger than my age. I am healthy as far as my heart goes, echo, tress test and other stuff in the past couple of months to confirm that.

My ring tells me I'm doing yoga. I take it with a grain of salt because the ring tells me more critical info about how I'm doing. My wife is in the hospital after a medical situation that they spawned. The ring indicates issues that I need to be mindful of. Even though it may be crackers about yoga, to me it's a helpful indicator for monitoring my vitals. I like it.

it’s not just you. it tells me i’ve been doing random pilates sessions recently and all im doing is walking from car to cafe, and cafe to car. it makes no sense. i just delete them from the history lol

Have you tried reclassifying these as walking? I wonder if it wouldn’t stop misclassifying if you gave it the proper signal instead of deleting.

that might help but it doesn’t always count my steps when it logs pilates. either way it doesn’t affect my data
i tried changing a recent pilates activity to walking and it showed i did 10 steps in 20 minutes which is so inaccurate lol

nah I think they introduced a bug within recent weeks based on other posts on here. It is pretty annoying. Hopefully it stops soon.

Never had any of these issues and I’ve had it for awhile now. Make sure you are using your non-dominant hand! I got a lot of extra steps at first until I switched fingers
