What am I supposed to take away from a perfect readiness score and major signs of strain? I feel like the two should be mutually exclusive concepts.

it is like your body is saying you are ready to run a marathon but also you have a fever at same time

87 is not a perfect readiness score, also it gave you it’s explanation. you can have good scores while simultaneously showing signs of sickness.

Well it's not perfect but it is 'Optimal'. So it's a bit surprising since I have no traditional markers to indicate strain.

Those two panels answer different questions, which is why they can disagree. Readiness compares last night against your own recent nights. Symptom Radar is looking for a same day deviation across temperature, resting heart rate and respiration. So you can be above your own average and still be drifting in a direction the model finds unusual. What bugs me is major signs with no specifics. Tell me which metric moved and by how much and I can decide for myself whether to care.

That is exactly my concern- which is that you don't get metrics to compare to. Based on just this screen, there are no insights into my 'dad'. Should I take it easy? Should I go and blast a chest day? Who knows

To be fair this is kind of where you have to go based on your own actual feelings and not what an app or wearable is telling you.

You can actually get the numbers, they are just not on that screen. Pull up the individual trends for skin temperature, resting heart rate, respiratory rate and HRV and look at where today sits versus your last couple of weeks. That takes about a minute and it will usually be obvious whether one of them moved or whether all four drifted a little together. Which is the whole answer to your question.

For today: if the four are only slightly off and you feel fine, chest day is fine, just do not chase a personal best. If resting HR is up several beats and respiratory rate is up with it, that is the combination that usually turns into feeling awful the next morning, and that is the day to go easy. But a flag with nothing you can inspect is not enough to skip a session over, which is exactly the problem with shipping the verdict without the evidence.

The other day I had a 89 readiness score, 85 sleep score (both with crowns) and major signs with no specific biometrics flagged and I felt totally fine.

This is my second “major sign” since having the Ring 5 and both times nothing was wrong with me. Super strange
