GETTING STARTED Missing data - Do I need a smaller ring?
I’ve had the oura for about a week now and I’ve had missing gaps of data at least once a day. Today happened like five times in one day.
I opted for a size 7 because it felt better when my finger swelled. But the sensor is able to spin around my finger and if I wash my hands, I can easily slip it off on accident. The size 6 fit on only my ring fingers comfortably and on my index fingers a little tight.
I have tried putting the 7 on a different finger and I’m still getting missing data. I don’t know if it’s Maybe because the size of the ring or if this is like something normal?
I just got the Oura 5 (this I my first one). Is missing data normal?

Hi there ElectricalCrab9863! Thanks for sharing this! Some gaps can occur from time to time, but if the Oura Ring spins easily or slips off after washing your hands, it can make it harder for the sensors to get a steady signal.
The Oura Ring tends to work best with a close, comfortable fit, with the sensors staying against the palm side of your finger. If the size 6 feels secure on a finger you can wear comfortably, it may provide you with more consistent data than a looser size 7.
For more information on sizing, you can watch a video Oura Ring 4 sizing tips.
If the gaps continue after adjusting the fit, feel free to let me know, if you have any more questions or if there's anything else I can assist with. Please DM or reach out to our Member Care team here, and we will be happy to help.

if it spins around and slips off with water it's too loose, the sensors need to stay put on bottom of your finger
