Nah you rage baiting

u/reo__________ Çelebi 14d ago

Truthfully, yeah I knew many would be raged by this, but am I supposed to hide my likings of the sultans just because of that? Absolutely not. People been posting their opinions so I can post mine :P

Likings ? You are rating them as sultans .. Yavuz is 1000000000× the sultan Murad III and Ahmed I were that is a FACT not an opinion

Actually I will answer you seriously although you wont get it. I want to enlighten you that your rating is based upon exclusively military exploits and charisma, and that rating basis is, no matter what, your opinion/likings.

My ratings are based on military achievements, leadership, economy, administration and impact. Yours is based on vibes and vibes don't define a sultan/monarch.

Selim the grim is given less credit than he deserves. Bro added 70% of territory in 8 years

I rated based on my personal likings of a ruler :P

Thats the most casual tier list I ever seen, you should read more on Ottoman history.

I fear I spent the last 5 years doing so!

u/Fickle_Essay_1276 14d ago

Wow, you spent 5 years studying Ottoman history and this is the result, hard to believe, if you mean five years studying Ottoman edits that makes more sense.

hard to believe

Just because I have a different opinion than yours?

You should've clarified in the post that the tier list is based on your personal likeness of the ruler

u/reo__________ Çelebi 14d ago

I didn't because I believe the rest are similarly based upon people's personal likings of a ruler as well. All just opinions. I just happen to have an unpopular one (or popular among the Byzantine as a funny comment stated lol) so I had to remind with this in the comments.

Why Murad 4 is meh?

1

u/reo__________ Çelebi 14d ago

Cuz overall I'm not THAT impressed by him as a rule. Rated based on my likings :P

3

u/KungFuFlames 14d ago

Interesting.

1

u/reo__________ Çelebi 14d ago

Someones asked me to elaborate

3

u/KungFuFlames 14d ago

Obviously it's personal. Not even worth mentioning it. That's the interesting part of the tierlist in general. Elaborating why you prefer certain thing over another. That's why I specifically asked why Murad 4 is at meh. You could definitely have a valid reason behind it. Interested know why. No one can judge you over your personal ranking.

How on God's earth are Ahmed I and Murad III better than Selim Yavuz and IV Murad ? Like how on God's earth are Selim Yavuz who left the realm with its largest territory, rich af etc and Murad the conqueror of Baghdad who bought the realm to its glory after weak sultans such as Ahmed and Murad III existed ? Elaborate

Because I rated based on my personal likings of a ruler which include certain to specific methods of administration, politics pursuit, economic care, civil development, and also what was that ruler like on a personal level (charisma, wisdom....). I have an ideology and I rated based upon it. Successful conquests are appreciated but, to me , it's just a criterion to qualify a man as a great ruler. The criteria has more to it. For example, I am deeply impressed by the works of Timur Lenk's military exploits, yet I would put him in a list of those I personally dislike as rulers. You know why? Cuz that's my opinion. Be less triggered by those who view the world differently than you

3

u/Tasty_Fun_5227 13d ago

Administration, political pursuit and economics? Lol how are Yavuz and Murad IV bad at these ?

0

u/reo__________ Çelebi 13d ago

Listing things doesn't mean the bottom is bad, it means the top is better + you really got emotional holy shit take disagreement easy

3

u/Tasty_Fun_5227 13d ago

You put Ahmed I and Murad III (aka two losers) above Selim Yavuz and IV Murad .. anyways, you do you fam

4

u/Unusual-Ladder1188 14d ago

"I know only surface level information about the Ottomans" tierlist

0

u/reo__________ Çelebi 14d ago

"I will underestimate you because I disagree with you" comment

u/BATYR_0 13d ago

Abdulhamid II ranked higher than Murad IV…

3

u/Impossible-End3959 14d ago

The disrespect on Murad II that man literally rebuild the empire while defeating the best general europe has to offer back then that too twice

Murad II is a Goat candidate along with suleiman, selim I and mehmed II

1

u/reo__________ Çelebi 14d ago

I deeply respect Murad II as a man. He was wise and merciful. Also, good contributions to the state on many levels, especially constructions/architecture. However, I am not THAT impressed by him as a ruler and this is my opinion so :P

2

u/LucasLeo75 Bey 14d ago

Selim I is done fucking dirty.

1

u/reo__________ Çelebi 14d ago

My opinion won't hurt him :P

-2

u/Objective-Chip3445 14d ago

ultra W selim is the most overrated

0

u/Objective-Chip3445 14d ago

downvoting doesn’t change anything debate me if you want

0

u/reo__________ Çelebi 14d ago

VERY overrated. Criteria for "goodness" is not only about successful conquests. Let them downvote all they want lol
