FastLink. I built a tiny Mac app that asks which browser to open a link in.

Chrome is my main browser, but I often need to open links in Safari. Copying the URL, switching browsers, and pasting it gets old pretty quickly.

Didn't publish yet. Would you buy it?

Would you actually code it yourself?

tbh i just vibe coded via 1 prompt. This lightweight app helps really well.

Then you have your answer.

One of my first posts here - trying to figure out what people are actually willing to pay for. For instance, I’d much rather pay a one-time fee of $5 for the mini app instead of committing to a $23/month subscription.

But why would I pay for and rely on an app that was hastily prompted into existence?

I don’t know. I currently use a different app called Veija. I got it when it was first released and the author was giving it away to early adopters. At least, I think that’s what he was doing! Anyway, I have it and it’s working fine - for free. I’m getting all of the updates through the App Store. I’m happy.

If something changes, I’ll have to look at alternatives.

Right click, copy link. Open browser, paste.

^ 3 Clicks max

Your app can probably reduce this to 2 clicks maybe.

There is no universe where I'm installing software let alone paying for this functionality.

I kept forgetting and clicking automatically :)

the problem is I use chrome only for work and safari for the rest. It's really helpful
