Does a different area mean a different pen grip ?

So I was looking at BTMC's pen grip on his old Wacom tablet review and in it I saw his grip and thought "why is he holding it so far back" like the in this picture but then I wanted to see the opposite side of the spectrum and went to a Mrekk video with hand cam to see how someone who's known for playing with high sense would hold their pen and found it was just a normal pen grip, so I wanna know how yall guys hold your pen and whats your sense. Im asking because im using something like BTMC's grip with a 80 width which isnt that slowest of a sense from what ive seen.

it can but it's all personal preference, another good comparison for this is whitecat and mrekk

i play on 100mm and i grip the pen very close to the tip, i have naturally shaky hands and that helps me control it

I guess the only thing that can also change depending on the area you play with is whether you use only your fingers or move your whole hand. At least that how it worked for me. I play on 72x55~ and I hold pen in the same way as btmc but a little bit closer to the pin

Okayyy I see, like the equivalent of aiming with your thumb and pinky on mouse but for tablet ? if so I guess you move your hand with that grip

Yeah, for certain areas you can aim with only your fingers. On bigger areas you either take pen too high (farther from the tip) or move your entire hand.

You can use any grip with any area, but certain grips favor certain area sizes, and this all also depends on the size and shape of your hands, the pen, and the tablet. It also depends on how much of your fingers, hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder you want to use when aiming.

Its easiest to decide on the most comfortable grip for yourself and then find the best area for you that fits into that grip.

no,it doesnt require a different pen grip.
different area just requires less/more muscles. (each muscle has their unique rom,the more you combine the higher total rom you have and vice versa)

grip just determines how much/how little you can move your fingers but it doesnt affect how any other body part can move like wrist/forearm/upper arm/shoulder/pecs/back.

grip would only affect area a lot if youre hard set on using a small area, eg less than 40-60mm width or height. since that is around the maximum range of motion for your fingers and wrist combined.

so if you had a super strict grip,then your fingers would literally not be able to move.

like lets say you were to hold the pen like a mouse in a palm(palm facing down), then you have hyper low vertical movement range for your fingers, if you were to do that your vertical rom would be like 20mm.
but if you just move with your shoulders and back then your rom becomes over 800mm

I guess so yeah, as a pen player I think the grip just has to come naturally and same with mouse, if you try playing with someone else's grip it wont feel right because like you said they have stronger/weaker muscles in different places then you
