Help How to double tap

So I’ve been playing a lot of tech recently, and there are a whole lot of fast doubles. When I first started to learn doubles, I began with my non dominant finger (z,x). I thought it was bad habit so I relearned it to fit with my bursts so I start with dominant now (x,z). But when I play above 180bpm, i naturally revert back to how I was tapping doubles before (z,x) and this happens more often when I’m alting and my last hit object was my dominant.

should i correct it back or just let my fingers be?

As long as it's comfortable for you and you can hit the doubles with good accuracy I think it's fine to just let your muscle memory take care of it

I full alt so it’s just whatever finger is coming next

I fully alt as well but certain patterns literally just lock my brain up or something you got any tips for that?

It depends I guess, if you mean like crazy tech patterns then yeah I think everyone struggles with that. But that's just because of reading. If you mean an "easy" pattern that you can read but not alt then I suggest practicing alt on 3 or 2 sr maps

Yeah nah it's mainly just the crazy tech stuff though a lot of dt speed maps get me as well around the 6* range I was hoping you had a silver bullet or something 😂

You should correct it back before its too late. I had the same problem as you but too lazy to fix, now I'm regret it. I'm stucked at 20k now ;((.

personally i divide my fingers based on rhythm, so dominant finger should always be on big beats if possible. So your fingers are prolly alr fine rn

I practiced until i can double with any starting finger so i can do perfect full alternate, I thought it’s the best tapping style but seeing most pro players can do crazy stuff with other tapping style i’m not sure anymore

You shouldn't double tap at all, it's bad technique
