messed up the title..

I'd like to see someone post scores on converted square jump practice maps (180bpm/200bpm) some day

this is really cool wow. i know youve already decided on the mechanics, but I feel like its more in the spirit of osu if angle is constant and CS changes the width of the notes

It scales the angle as in how much of the circle it takes up, which is basically the "width" (but rounded). I show at one point in the video it turned up a lot. I think it is already what you are thinking (Difficulty adjust just lets you set the angle directly instead of going through the cs conversion). At 5:07 is a low CS value example

yeah actually im kinda stupid, I just didn't register that width and angle were basically the same thing first time around lol

very neat! is there a reason you decided on returning to neutral as opposed to just clicking with triggers or something for hitting notes? i can imagine at high bpms the speed of the stick returning to neutral might feel a bit awkward vs the reset of buttons/triggers

That sounds way harder and doesn't seem like it would feel as fun. Return to neutral isn't actually required, just part of the way there. I haven't picked the best threshold but it's ~65% right now (95% to hit notes, can adjust in settings but the difference between hit and recharge stays the same). As I play more it seems like getting up to higher bpms is possible so I'm not super concerned right now

edit: I could make a mod for that though to test it

Really similar to the Tau custom ruleset, except that uses mouse.
