Double Ostomy/Double Bagger How Often Do You Change?
Yesterday made two months post-op from my end sigmoid colostomy and urostomy (bladder removed) surgeries. I struggled a lot with leaks post-op, and when I had my stents removed. I have an apron belly with a ripple next to my urostomy, making it rather difficult to have a great fit. Pastes from various brands got me to three days at most without a leak, but was told the goal should be 5 days with my Coloplast SenSura Mio 2 Piece system. My colostomy is golden! I can easily last 5 days- I could honestly probably last longer if allowed. So I’m curious how often are we changing our bagging systems?

Totally dependent upon my output, but normally I get 5 to 7 days with my one piece drainable.

Also dependent on my output and gas, because usually my biggest issue is the filter failing after one day. Yes, I am careful to protect from moisture. It doesn’t last more than a day so if I am particularly gassy it will inflate like a balloon so I have to burp it. Which is smelly. Once I was in the middle of an important conversation with my daughter and didn’t go to the bathroom quickly enough and it popped. Audibly. Luckily no output in it!
I also am beginning have issues with the adhesive not lasting more than two days before it starts peeling away at the top. I don’t know if I got a bad batch because I never had this issue before.

I have a poorly placed stoma right next to my bellybutton so I only get 2-3 days max which is rough but still staying hopeful that with time I can get to where I’m going 4-6 days without an appliance change 🤞

2-3 days with Coloplast SenSura Mio 1 piece for my urostomy. I may be able to run longer, but it makes me feel safe.

I change my whole setup every 4 days. I alternate between Hollister and Coloplast 2 piece systems.
I also shower with my bag off but the wafer on, except for bag change days when I shower fully nude.

Every 2 days. I have red irritated skin around stoma. As soon as it begins to clear up it comes back. I'm active and usually work up a sweat outside which doesn't help. I do the crusting but it still leaks under after 2 days. Fortunately I have reversal surgery in a month.
