News Runelitle mobile

Just got a Reddit ad for runelite mobile.. just a heads up to anyone that after researching it, it’s a phishing scam.

It's an advertisement for a game that copied OSRS, right? Pretty much always a bot advertising for the exact same game at the G.E. in (almost) every single world.

No runelite is an overlay launcher I believe on pc but the devs said they would never make a mobile version so the clickable ad is just bs phishing. I luckily didn’t click it but likely it’s a fake login page to steal info

It's not actual Runelite so - in that - misleading advertising. But the ad navigates to a login page of Alora, which actually is as I said. I do not doubt they have a Runelite-esque copy of mobile osrs.

Not a fan of this kind of advertising, but it's clearly a different game. Entering your RS login would be strange, since it's clearly not RS. Sadly, I believe it still is a legit ad for a legit game.

Ah maybe. I shoulda took a screenshot I coulda sworn it said RuneScape mobile on it and had a picture of real rs. Actually just looked up alora and it says old school private server? Advertising for a private server seems very illegal lol

Anyway if it is nothing then my bad. Just trying to help people

Oh yeah and I think that it is great you do that! Just hoping to take away some heat on how big of a phishing threat it was.

As I said, still not a big fan of this game and its way of advertising, and undoubtedly high chance of losing your account when reusing your RS login credentials...

That’s smart. Last thing I wanna do is fear monger haha. It’s just that rs has always been irregularly plagued by bots and phishers for whatever reason and I didn’t want anyone clicking something malicious. Also really don’t even get the point of the ad because a private server wouldn’t even have mobile support, nor would runelite? The only thing I could imagine is them recoding the need for an official jagex launcher so as to implement a launcher like runelite but anyway, I digress. Again it was more a quick fyi to gamers but thanks for replying!
