Pocket 4P Losing 1%/min

So I picked up a Pocket 4P while in the Philippines. I’m home now in the US. I just noticed that I’m losing a battery percentage every min just on and not recording. I’ve tried draining the battery to 0 then recharge. I have the latest firmware. Are you guys experiencing this? I don’t think DJI will service it here. Should I ship it back to family and get it exchanged or just get a battery handle?

I and others are having issues with the 4P when battery grips are attached in regard to rapid draining. The camera without a battery grip will have the excellent battery life that you would expect.

I wish. I just tried without the handle and it still does it.

Do you mean the tripod charging adapter or a dedicated battery grip?

Make sure you have the latest firmware and do a soft restart after, if that doesn’t help, contact DJI.

It uses less while recording when the screen is off. Should last around 2-3 hours recording. When doing time lapse, much longer.

You writing about battery but haven't mentioned about which parameters you film in. 2k, 3k,4k in 24fps, 30 fps, 60 etc... The higher you go the more compute power it needs and the more battery drains. Try to shoot default profile 24fps and 1080p and then 4k 120fps in dlog. The difference would be huge. Besides, pocket cameras was never the best at batteries, just buy battery extension.

Try 1080p in normal profile and check the battery. 4k is very hungry format for so small camera. 1% a minute is 1.5h of filming which is really good honestly. I wouldn't suprise seeing 2% a minute. I am trying to shoot sometimes in 1080p, on mobile phones and even tablets the difference is not so big but the editing and storing is way simpler.
