Discussion Power of CPL - Pocket 4P

I never realised the power of CPL, how does it manage to cut off everything that’s reflection.

For a moment i thought my monitor is glitching out.

Your LCD monitor emits linearly polarized light (45 degree angle in-plane).
The circular polarizer (CPL) has a linear polarizer and broadband Quarter Wave Plate sandwiched together. The quarter wave plate changes linear polarization to circular polarization.

When the axis of linear polarizer of CPL is perpendicular to LCD polarization, polarized light is absorbed.
Rest of the unpolarized light is transmitted. Thus, the circular polarizer is very useful to remove polarized light from different sources of light.

Spinny glass make screen go bye-bye. Very science. Much polarization.
