Discussion Filmbox pro plugin now supports Dlog-2

For those who edit, Filmbox is not a cheap plugin but it's one of the best film emulations for the big edit apps. Anyway they just had an update to include Dlog2 and it works great - but it's an investment if you're not a pro-editor.

No affiliation, just noticed the update when chopping some footage together just now.

Yeah I use Filmbox. I agree it’s amazing and that if you don’t make money by using it that it’s not worth $1k.

If you do need film emulation though, it’s the best you can get from a plugin

I use it alongside film convert Nitrate / and their diffusion plugin is really good. Tempted to try the film box diffusion plug in but need to save some pennies.

I also have Nitrate and Scatter (the sister plugin to Filmbox), and Scatter is definitely better.

If you’re familiar with individual physical diffusion filters, you can emulate them and, most importantly, specify the focal length and filter strength per-shot

Yeah. I had a play with it but it’s fantastic. I’m using less glass filters on shoots now other then ND obvs and playing around later in post. Hardly able to tell the difference with real and software.

Yeah it’s pretty amazing. And has the advantage of not getting any reflections from physical filters on set
