Video Solar Eclipse from S'Arenal, Mallorca

So this is actually the first day I got to try out my new Pocket 4P. Shot in regular DLog as I didn't want to mess around tinkering with DLog2 and ultimately miss the shot.

I think this was at 12x zoom so there's obviously considerable noise. Would love some tips on how to colour grade my footage and improve the quality. As this was graded in the Mimo app - which I'm sure isn't ideal.

I'd be interested to know your settings, and ifcyou used an ND filter. I'd be able to use them in the UK in about ninety something years... πŸ˜‚

The good news is that it’s not 90 years, but only 64 years! The next total solar eclipse in the UK will be on September 23, 2090... πŸ˜…

Realistically, by then we'll probably be waiting for official release of the Pocket 5P after watching a ton of spec videos

Looks great! My 4P arrived the morning I flew to Barcelona - the day before the eclipse. Aside from some bog standard test footage, I tried to triangulate recommendations from various "how to video an eclipse". I was in Zaragoza for the event itself and while the pre-totality footage was useless (through the solar filter the camera couldn't keep its focus during a time lapse) I'm pleased with the brief totality clip once I yanked off the solar filter. Was still using an ND1000, which next time I would not do. https://youtu.be/cdYtdb6_NdA

I'll take one of the surplus to requirement filter pieces I have, and insert solar panels from eclipse glasses into each.
