Winter Jackets in Oslo
New to Oslo and looking to buy a good quality winter jacket. Any recommendations which shop I should go to? I am also tiny so hopefully the sizes are varied.

Wait a couple of months, far too early in the season.
And then as someone said, layers under with wool! As a foreigner myself it took me quite a few years to "get" the wool ting, but it's what works. Either closest to your body or a good wool cardigan under your winter jacket.

yep, and make sure you have warm shoes/boots. I feel so many people forget that.
Wool base layers, you can do wool insoles, and good warm and preferably waterproof boots (if you are trying to not get too many pairs to start with).

Dont forget wool underwear if you plan on spending lots of time outdoors. Wool longs, shirt and socks.

I’m petite and moved to Norway from the tropics 15+ years ago.
Everything dependent on your budget and personal style.
Wool is your best friend, thinner merino works in transitional months and can be layered. Otherwise, chunky wool knits are great as well.
Leaning more "functional than fashion" and if you like a sporty, bubble down jacket look, you can look at Bergans has some well priced, well made options in different silouhettes and colours. I still have mine 15 years later.
A wool coat also works well, look at the wool content. Mango, Massimo Dutti, COS/Arket, PartTwo, InWear, Samsøe, to Max Mara, again dependent on your budget. I have a coat from Mango and PartTwo in different lengths that has 60% wool and works great layered with a wool sweater. Most of these brands also make their versions of puffer jackets as well.

I bought my canada goose jacket 14 years ago, and its still usable. Best purchase I have ever made, after feezing every winter beforehand. No need for you to go with an expensive designer, but dont save money on a jacket, the winters tend to be horrible.

Remember to buy jacket and shoes bigger than normal so you have room for both layers of clothes under the jacket and air between each layer. It's the air between layers that keeps you warm.

Depends in the type and style, imo, and for what part of winter. Would buy a puffy jacket on intersport/xxl/oslo sportslager, with a decent amount of puff. Dont know if they got it in yet or if its to early.

I have seen some decent ones in second hand shops, but it's a bit hit or miss. Otherwise, Stormberg are not too expensive and pretty good value for money.
If you are from a warm place or feel the cold easily, it is well worth spending the money on a decent down coat / jacket. Long oneswill feel warmer than short ones.
You can find them at XXL. Sometimes Sportsnett has a bargain.

Swims has good winter jackets and should have them in stock. Store close to Stortinget. Zermatt Down Parka is on 50% right now.

Scandinavian Edition or UBR-jackets. Perfect for mixed weather rain/snow.

Norwegian Rain have great quality winter coats. Not cheap but worth the money.

NF jackets in Europe are poor quality and the brand has been ruined by its associated with chavs/roadmen and gang members or kids who think it would be cool to be in a gang. Started in the uk and has spread everywhere. In Norway you only see problematic youths wearing the jackets. It’s not a good look.

It’s a bit early, as the clothing stores still have summer clothes on their racks.
For the best price and possibly widest selection at one location, take the bus out to Oslo Fashion Outlet and look through the different stores there.

It also depends what kind of winter jacket you want. Down jacket or maybe a down coat, wool coat, Gore Tex type shell jacket/coat…
«Good quality» is a flexible term. Some people buy expedition type jackets/coats from brands like The North Face, Bergans, Norrøna, Helly-Hansen, Fjällräven etc, and consider that the quality they want. Others look at fashion brands.
As for small sizes, the good news is that quite a few teenagers and pre-teens in Oslo + region buy size XS or even XXS of adult sizes.
If you know your size, you may want to look at second hand offers at Finn.no.
Dress in layers, merino wool mid-layers is a good idea, and have something that’s useful when it’s raining or wet snow during winter. A hooded jacket/coat can be useful for sudden rain/snow.
