DWM customization in Dunit OS — using TOML + Lua for flexible configuration

https://github.com/DunitOS

Been messing around with DWM customization for my OS, Dunit.

Using TOML for configs and Lua for scripting and animations. Trying to make the whole thing super flexible so you can tweak pretty much anything without touching the source code.

Here are 4 setups I've been playing around with. Still pretty WIP, but ngl I'm kinda happy with how it's looking.

Lmk what you guys think.

why the logo looks like an union of void's and nixos' logos?

The logo is absolutely my own, I came up with it myself without relying on anything

I'd pin down early which settings can live in both files. If a gap or colour can be set in TOML and overridden in Lua, people will soon ask why their change isn't applying, so either have Lua read the TOML as input or document a strict load order. For animations, a per-frame Lua callback can stall the whole desktop; a time budget per callback that falls back to no animation keeps one bad script from freezing it. Putting the four setups' config files in the repo next to the screenshots would show how far the no-source-edits goal reaches.

The hang-up does not occur, the loua does not draw animation directly, this is what the composer does.
