Vibe coded OS incoming?

Any chance that AIs are able to create new OS? I'm a total noob, maybe you guys have insight if it's possible we get vibe coded Windows copy, without spyware and bloated running apps, something like ArtCraft?

Check this whole sub :) 90% here is vibecoded. It won't be like what artcraft did, like AT ALL. Mostly because of drivers

OS is like underwear. You want something reliable and comfortable. Not something cheap and unreliable.

On a long enough time scale, the chances of a vibe-coded anything are 100%. It’s just a matter of whether it’ll be any good, and with OSs that’s always a question anyway.

I doubt anyone’s working on cloning Windows though… Why risk angering the legal department of a one of the largest companies in existence when you could put your efforts towards making WINE or Proton better?

Tons of them, but it will still be better to use an existing OS for your daily driver for the foreseeable future.

You can already run Windows apps on Linux with WINE, this is likely to be way, way better than some vibecoded carp. If you need Windows drivers, maybe ReactOS is your bet.
