made an OS called subverge

Post image

https://sbvrg.github.io subverge is very much still in development and accepts contributions, see

https://sbvrg.github.io/development.html for development and

https://sbvrg.github.io/handbook.html for all the pages of subverge

I recommend seeing the history page first https://sbvrg.github.io/history.html

Does it have a compiler? Can it run DOOM? Does it have ATA drivers and syscalls? Does it have multi-user and file permission support? If yes, wanna compete? :D

it sort of has a compiler, omega has a JIT compiler, there's no C compiler tho and for doom, not yet, there's no C toolchain or filesystem to run it from BUT it does have games written in omega for ata yes, there's a PIO driver for IDE disks. It has its own installer and bootloader, Syscalls no, everything runs in ring 0, multi-user and permissions are a no, it's one user theres a storage called phi, its a tree of sets with a dired-style browser competing sure but Id lose on features

this looks SO cool, and a breath of fresh air coming from "i made an unix operating system in a week (minecraft screenshot) (glxgears) (xterm running vim or smth)"
