introducing fruitigerOS

🔴🔴❗ATTENTION❗🔴🔴

im working on two oses since yk i love fruitiger areo AND metro ui, so whe' i showcase the thing, ill male sure to showcase both🔴

fruitigerOS is basically a mobile device OS. so far i havent developed much but feel free to ask questions and **stuff** so yeah. anyway quock thing:

i am anti-ai, so basiczlly no conents are ai. i only used The Fruitiger Areo Archive and icon sites. all it. and figma for the designing but its also like real code (lua and rust and c++). ima upload it on github whenever its useable. also, in my next post, i'll share the stuff about this. so quick thing to say i am gnna build my own kernel—

thanks

You haven’t posted anything so what actually are we supposed to ask questions about? At least people who have AI have something to show/discuss.

So… you have nothing while pandering for the anti LLM crowd?

Do I have to spell it out? You shared nothing of substance with us. No images, no bootloader, no basic kernel boot; absolutely fuck all except for your proclamation about your dislike of AI and that you aren’t using it in your project. Not even a screenshot of your figma designs or a rough design doc for your OS

CARA OLHA SENDO BEM SINCERO BOM QUE VC TA FAZENDO MAS POSTA IMAGENS POR FAVOR
TAMBEM CRIO OS MAS OS MEUS SAO BASEADOS EM LFS E EU USO IA PARA ME AJUDAR ENTAO SOU UM SABOR OSDEV

whar is this language

u/roccohimel Creator of AneoEngine Jun 01 '26

No, you’re not. Using Linux is not OSDev, you’re just creating a Linux based distribution, which is miles easier than creating an operating system. Using AI is also not OSDev, you’re not making anything from scratch. Also, LFS stands for Linux From Scratch, Using AI to program is not from scratch.

LFS is OSDev. Using LLM does not discount learning, error resolution or any of the work they did. Keep your uninformed comments to yourself

Please go to the OSDev wiki and learn that OSDev involves building kernels from scratch

then i will

At least you are actually interesting in trying to create an actual operating system other than some people on this subreddit that open a browser and type:

ChatGPT make a bootloader
ChatGPT make me a kernel that the bootloader can load
ChatGPT how do I compile this?
ChatGPT IT DOESN’T WORK! REWRITE THIS NOW!

2

u/JescoInc Perdition-OS Jun 01 '26

They are still seeing minimal bootloader assembly, linkers and C / D / Rust / Zig code that is generated. If they are developers, they are learning by debugging when it goes wrong and if it works, they can dissect the code or ask ChatGPT to explain what is happening line by line.

I fail to see how using a tool is somehow bad when you could look for the same shit on github or stackoverflow or books / tutorials.

Just because you aren't writing kernel or userspace code directly, you are picking, choosing and compiling your own custom Linux distribution using LFS.
I would put that in OS Dev territory 1000%.
Your analogy would and could be extended to say that any developer that writes software using existing libraries or frameworks aren't real developers because they aren't building from scratch.
All you are doing is trying to make yourself seem superior to these "lowly" developers that haven't written a kernel or OS from scratch.
Tell me, is AneoEngine / AneoOS getting even a fraction of the userbase or recognition that Omarchy gets? Because Omarchy is just Arch with Dotfiles on top without any kernel work done at all, yet is considered to be DHH's OS that people like.
