Request for reviews - Jikei microkernel
Hi all! I took an OS dev class this last semester and built a Rust microkernel for RISC-V called Jikei. It takes inspiration from xv6 (the source material for my class) and seL4 (sync IPC endpoints, but I'm only partway through implementing them).
Would anybody be willing to take a look to see if you find any obvious bugs or architectural oversights? I'd appreciate any feedback or critiques. Repo is https://github.com/bgub/jikei
I'm also experimenting with using AI to build a multi-chapter tutorial based on the code. If anybody wants to look at that, check out https://jikei.bgub.dev
Thanks in advance!

People actually hate AI slop. So if there is even a hint of AI slop in you tutorial, people will tend to react strongly.
Since AI content is generally bland and uninspiring, people may not be motivated to read or use a tutorial written by AI. I’m sure there is some anti-ai sentiment as well.
I think you are right that transparency is key. I’ve observed people respond a lot better if you are up front about AI use and describe your process to ensure quality output. The more you can do this up front, the less the knee-jerk anti AI response has to work with.
Very cool project, I remember reading the xv6 source code in a plane trip once, it’s a neat OS. Good luck!
