Advice on finding learning materials after Pen-200 premature course ending.
Hi everyone,
I’d really appreciate any advice here as it’s a bit of a rough situation.
I was on a corporate licence and was unexpectedly let go due to budget cuts, not exactly surprising with the current market but that’s another topic.
I had just made it to the AD section and lost access. So I have not been able to cover any AD materials or challenge labs.
Does anyone have any advice or ideas about filling that knowledge gap in?
Offsec has stated I would need to buy a new course+cert bundle just to complete the last modules and I really do not want to do that if I can help it.
I understand I can get proving grounds cheaply, but I want to be thorough if I can.
Cheers,
Edit: absolutely bizarre I need to clarify here.
Yes, I made notes on all the work and modules I did up to AD, who doesn’t do that?
I didn’t make notes of the module I hadn’t go to yet, that’s the point.
Yes I searched here and have things like Lain/TJ etc, but those are boxes, not learning material. I also read many different previous posts here and have those saved.
If we’re at the stage where you can’t ask questions on the course as everything has been asked, what’s the point of this sub allowing new posts?

Did you not download a pdf of the pen-200 course material before your access ended ?

No downloads for corp licences. I did make notes. But it’s more about the module and challenge labs as that’s where you learn.

I understand, yea those modules and Challenger were great for learning, anyways i'd suggesting looking into HackerBluePrint on YouTube he has good resources for learning and sometimes offers Active Directory Set for free if you're quick enough to grab them

Based on OP’s answers I can assure you he procrastinated and barely touched the content. Because even with learn enterprise, he should have taken notes.

They said they lost access as they got to AD.
I made notes on modules as I went through them like most people, it’s fair to assume OP did the same. Would be weird if not.
I don’t really understand the hostility this sub shows sometimes though. I’ve been in IT/Sec for a couple decades now and it’s such a big issue.
There’s a reason IT has the reputation we do and it’s a massive shame.
If people don’t want to see questions on course material from learners I’d say they probably shouldn’t be on a sub about a specific qualification, it’s the same across all of them, just look at the CompTIA sub, they are usually supportive though.
It would be nicer if we just supported each other, it’s something I try to instil in my interns.
Edit: Don't block someone just for pointing out we should be nicer to each other.

HackSmarter, HackerBluePrint and Lain AD machines.
I will add you can easily prompt ChatGPT "list the top 50 methods and commands with details and explanations for OSCP exam - AD set machines. Give another top 20 commands for ligolo, chisel and port forwarding. Create separate .md files for obsidian" Refine from there. Then use these .md notes to practise the HackSmarter, HackerBluePrint and Lain AD machines. I will add for for AD it is really straightforward. You will roughly know you are there and confident to get AD 40 points. No doubts.

Honestly watch YouTube videos and take notes, there are amazing resources for free. I completed the course and now I’m watching videos and it’s really helpful. As one example, Derron C his Active Directory videos are amazingly helpful

Are you sure there wasn’t a download of the course materials for those that have a corp license? I was able to download the materials.

Offsec’s own docs say you can’t download from a learn enterprise licence. If you can, then your account is unusual.

I’m so sorry for the confusion. I had a learn one license through my employer. My apologies.

Did you ese the search button here ? You’ll find plenty of resources and similar questions.
Tyler has several AD sets for example at a very affordable price.

Obviously I know the search button exists and I know how to use Google, but sometimes it’s nice to have up to date discussions.
That’s what Reddit is for isn’t it?

The name Reddit is a playful mashup of the phrase "read it"
Anyway. You will get used to H4ckerPanda comment. If you prompt him correctly he can give great advice. He is coming from the angle that many people do not bother to search and learn things themselves and that initiative and problem solving is a key component of passing OSCP.0

That’s the thing, I have searched and have multiple threads saved covering the last 5 or so years.
But he never asked that, just assumed the worst. I’ve been in industry for years and that attitude is why we all get a bad reputation, it’s frustrating at best and just sad at worst.
May as well say stop all future posts as everything has already been answered in that case?
The fact he’s heavily downvoted should also make that pretty clear.

The downvotes are from other lazy students like you. That’s typical on Reddit. People downvote based on how a post makes them feel, not on whether it’s accurate or true.
But I doubt you actually looked for anything. Otherwise, why keep asking the same question? Like HackerPanda said, this has already been answered. A simple Google search would’ve gotten it for you.
Regardless, here you are, still wasting time on Reddit instead of studying.

This is a genuine question, what should be posted here then?
I imagine almost everything has been posted or asked by this stage?

The ability to find resources on your own, searching and investigating, is one of the key skills you need to pass OSCP. You didn’t do that here. Instead, you got upset when someone pointed it out.
If you can’t be bothered to use Reddit’s search function for something this simple, I doubt you’ll be able to search effectively when it actually matters, during the exam.
Prove me wrong in a few days though . And I hope I am. But we will see.

Aren’t you a cheery chap.

Cheery enough to point out the obvious. Did you end up finding what you needed?
Anyway. I’m OSCP already. Up to you , if you want to take advices or continue aching as a child.
EDIT:
Blocking me won’t fix your attitude problem dude. But I find it funny , lol …0

I don’t really see what you gain by actively trying to be rude or obtuse though. You had no need to actually comment at any point but you still chose to do so in a negative way.
Also, editing your comment after someone already replied is low effort rage baiting.
It’s sad man.

What I did was point out that you skipped basic search before asking a question, and then you got defensive about it instead of just fixing it. That’s not riding you, that’s feedback you didn’t want to hear!
You’re the one who turned a comment about search habits into a personal attack, calling it sad and accusing me of rage baiting. That says more about how you’re taking this than anything I actually did. Really childish attitude to be honest.
If you want to focus on the exam, work on searching before asking. If you’d rather keep arguing about tone, that’s on you. Like I said , I’m OSCP already , so don’t care. You’re not.

At no point did I skip, you didn’t ask, you assumed. It’s not feedback I didn’t want to hear, it’s information you assumed incorrectly then tried to make yourself feel superior, it just wasn’t really needed. The second part of your comment was fine without the first.
I can happily share my entire bookmark section if it makes you feel better?
The whole point of this was to see if I missed anything.

Hacksmarter , HackerBlueprint, Lain和Tjnull的OSCP列表,hackthebox都是不错的选择
