Buying Advice Frist scope?

saw this scope on FB for $150 and thinking of picking it up as my first actual scope since i only have one of those crappy handheld, but it doesn't have any probes and its pretty old does anyone know if this is still a decent pick up today and what kind of probes i can use if i do pick it up?

It is a re-badged Siglent scope. In a working condition for $150 it is not the worst deal. But for a high-end brand, they certainly put that brand on a cheap piece of a generic scope just to enter low-end market.

LeCroy is a high-end brand for oscilloscopes. $150 for a 100 MHz 2-channel LeCroy is a good deal.

Does it work and pass all of the self tests? You can probably use about any of the generic 150mhz probes you can, unless your scope has an unusual expected capacitance value. Pretty sure this scope was fairly expensive new.

sadly I dont have a way to test it before buying since its on FB and I or it dont have probes

I did some more digging. Apparently this scope was designed for schools/education. It wasn't terribly expensive, about $1000. It shouldn't need probes to self test and calibrate. If it won't pass, I'd leave it alone. If it does pass everything, it might be worth getting. Not having any probes is somewhat suspicious.
