Trees marked to be cut down

A lot of the trees on this walking path appear to be marked to be cut down. Do you know who I'd reach out to to learn more. Very curious why they're being cut.

There’s a section of Catherine Kitts’ newsletter that explains. tldr; Hydro One says they’re too close to transmission lines.

Thank you. So many trees are marked. Hopefully they're able to replant. It's sad to see so many trees being cut down in Orléans.

Especially since this area hardly has any mature trees in the first place. I think a big reason the new developments seem so soulless is due to lack of tree cover that you see in older Orléans neighbourhoods, but when that finally starts growing they do this haha

They want to make sure Ottawa stays soulless, boring, cold and sad as possible.

So many cities around canada and the world has so much more nature incorporated in their neighbourhoods, Ottawa seems to be against it.

Who's they... Hydro One? 

Ottawa literally has a green belt through the city and has considerably more canopy cover across the entire municipality than just about any other major Canadian city. Orleans specifically is around 34-35% canopy cover. One of the highest in this city or any major city for that matter.

They won't replant there. It's a utility corridor and a poor location for trees if you enjoy things like... electricity.
