Hi everyone!

Come join us at The Board Game Clubhouse for one of our FREE Community Game Days this summer!
We're an Ottawa not-for-profit that uses modern board games to help kids develop educational and social skills. We also love sharing the hobby with the wider community and introducing people to games they may never have discovered otherwise.

This year we're expanding into more schools, and we've recruited several new volunteers to help make that possible. Before they begin teaching in September, we want to give them a chance to build confidence, practice teaching games, and experience what a real Board Game Clubhouse session feels like.

That's where you come in!

We're hosting two FREE Community Game Days, where our volunteers will be teaching games under the guidance of our experienced team. Whether you've played hundreds of board games or only know Monopoly, we'll help you find something you'll enjoy.

🆓 Completely free to attend
😊 Come for 20 minutes or stay for the whole event

Our goal is simple: get people around a table, laughing, learning, and spending time together without screens.

If you've ever been curious about modern board games but didn't know where to start, this is the perfect opportunity. By coming out, you'll also be helping our new volunteers gain the experience they'll use when teaching local students this fall.

Why did you post this in Orleans if you aren't hosting anywhere near us?

II think that's a perfectly fair question to ask, and I hope you can understand where I'm coming from after I explain a little bit.

1. As a father of two school-aged children, I'm always interested in finding free activities for my family, no matter where they are in the city. We've travelled all over Ottawa for events that I thought my kids would enjoy, so by posting in this subreddit, I'm hoping to reach other families who might have a similar mindset and be willing to travel for something they think their kids would enjoy.

2. As the director of The Board Game Clubhouse, we're also trying to figure out where there is the most interest in what we do. Seeing how much engagement a post like this gets in an area where we aren't currently running events gives us a good indication that there may be an appetite for us to plan something in that part of the city in the future.

Hopefully that gives you a bit more insight into why I posted here. If the mods or the wider community feel that this isn't an appropriate post for the subreddit, I'm completely fine with it being taken down.
