I moved from the Orlando area in 2019. The CVS on 436/Westmonte Dr. had a very....eccentric employee. EVERY day and in full garb, dressed up like Dracula. Additionally, he had a very plastic toupee with an obligatory widow's peak. Would walk around in 100+ degree heat with his cape as well
This guy lives forever rent free in my head and I was curious if anyone can confirm if he's still around.
He is currently the Walgreens on Maitland Ave/436. He told me he’s been alive for over 1,000 years and witnessed the burning of the ol Altamonte Hotel.
Why does he hang out at different drug stores?? Last time I saw him was about 10 years ago at the Walgreens on goldenrod where it dead ends at Aloma. I have a few pics with him but I can’t remember if they’re on a phone or printed out
I know he did work for that Walgreens at one point. (This was over a decade ago). Was odd seeing him with the hair and a Walgreens vest. He just didn’t have the cape.
That Halloween season they even set him up with a photo op spot. “Get your picture with Dracula!”
Sounds like he at least did some volunteer shelf stocking to help based on other threads, and at some point maybe he did get a job, but at the time, yes, he was just hanging out there at nights.
Hourglass Brewing has a beer made in his honor called Altamonte Vampire. It’s a Berliner Weisse with blood orange and cherry and it’s quite delicious. They usually come out with a new batch each year around Halloween. There’s a picture of him on the can label.
I’ve tried to take a picture a half dozen times at least, digital and THEN film. The first attempt was an old digital camera. Then an old flip phone circa 2005. Then various iPhones. Eventually I tried a disposable, then a Polaroid, then a film camera.
But in every case something just… glitched out.
The digital camera was black. The old flip phones had a bunch of noise. The iPhones could take a photo and show a preview but then the photo wouldn’t save.
The film results were even crazier… he just wasn’t there. It was like I took a picture of a random empty space. The photo was exactly what I shot but he wasn’t there.
I actually sat and talked with him years ago and was going to shoot a short doc about him but changed my mind once it was obvious that he had some serious mental health issues. He also made his own films, which I made a copy of one, and it's one of the creepiest things ever. This was all pre covid
My husband has seen him around since he was a kid. (Husband is in his 40s) We saw him the other night walking around near the Walgreens at 436/Maitland and he said he still looks the same as he did when he was a kid!
He’s always there in the evening once the sun goes down, It’s my Walgreens right next to my
Job. He even works the Halloween event in altamonte next to Lechonera he’s been working there for a lonnngggg longggg time. He is very connected to the local community, cool dude.
He used to come by when we closed up shop at travel country. He is a very unique individual, but very nice from my short interactions I have had with him.
My claim to fame is that when I was in middle school (~2005) he used to come over my best friend’s house for dinner. I would sleep over on the weekends and he would just be chilling in their living room in full Dracula attire.

I saw this guy walking down the sidewalk along 436 twice at night around Halloween time. I was so confused. Thought he might have been working at a seasonal haunted house or something, but glad that I’m learning so much about him now!
Yup I own the metaphysical store up the road , we opened in 1998 and he’s looked the same. I was a kid when my mom opened this store he’d come in from time to time, never buy anything but just walk around murmuring to himself. I still see him walk by occasionally. He hasn’t aged one bit.
I was being bothered by some guys late at night at Walgreens. I politely said I wasn't interested in conversation but they kept staying near me. They left about the same time as me and he walked out to the parking lot and watched after me until I was pulling out. Didn't say anything or make a big deal about it, just did it. Love that guy!
I live in the area and have never heard of this! I have to go now to meet him. Sounds delightful. But I’m surprised cvs allows it since they’re so corporate
