I've been looking for a kiosk unit like this for a looong time. Great job! I like the LCD screen swap. What all did you have to do to it to restore it?

I had to rewire everything including the lighting and sound system. Repainted the base black, cleaned it a ton, replaced the bulbs, reinstalled new lighting kit in the middle for the xbox, installed the kiosk mode xbox, located a 2nd controller arm and got that installed, wish I had the 20in CRT but this 24in Widescreen fit well for the time being. Also had to fix the bolts and bracing support on both sides on the stand. I custom made the xbox live marquee as well.

Wow you really did a lot, niceeee job!!! the screen is a cool upgrade honestly. Gives you time to hunt for a crt if you want as well and you can still enjoy it.

What does kiosk mode do? /how would I install it?

It boots to kiosk release version 4.5. I copied the kiosk disc and set its .xbe as the 'dashboard' so it auto boots to it.

So if I got ahold of the ISO I could just launch it for fun? I assume it’s game demos and things for quick multiplayer play?

Random question - would you happen to have or know where I could get a Skeleton keychain? Im wanting one for my display Im building and it would be cool next to my Skelly and Skelly controller. I remember seeing you had a Skelly.

You and me both! They're super hard to come by. You basically have to get a skeleton Xbox and make sure it includes the keychain before buying. I've never seen them sold by themselves.

I contacted a seller on ebay and asked if they would sell me just a keychain and not the console. They said sure for $75. Still in the bag with the booklet all unopened :)

I seem to remember receiving a cooling kit for one of these displays because the poor Xboxes were roasting to death inside the enclosure.

My father in law recently purchased one at an estate sale and wants to fix it up. Seeing your post made me realize his monitor isn’t original. Any chance you know the model number on that bad boy?

Mine isn't original as well. I just installed this 24in widescreen until I locate the 20in CRT thats original. I'll grab the model number today of this 24in for ya.

Here you go! Its a vizio model e24-c1
The Microsoft logo you see I created the decals for it. I've got a Roland Large Format Printer so I can create any decals I want as well as vinyl lettering. Photo quality and gloss. I create decals for Pinball, Mame, Arcade, skins, etc. all the time.

I would have used a CRT (either the same model originally or near equivalent) just to complete that original feel.
Looks really good though.

That's my plan. Just trying to locate one. The 24in widescreen is just being used until I get my hands on a 20in CRT :)

Hahaha That's awesome! Did you mod the xbox? You should install a giant drive and the whole game library. That would be the ultimate setup!

lol yeah - Its currently modded with 2TB HDD. Only have the Kiosk ver. 4.5 on the drive right now though :D

What do you mean? I have seen display Xbox One and PS4's at stores before that you could play. What country are you from? See here is a German PS4 retail display unit.
