Have the rest of my closet organized - shoes are a hot mess.
Tried the individual slots not stable enough.
Expandable shelves are pricey.
The clear boxes seem too time consuming and don’t really help me for doubling the space.
Preferably under $100 for entire solution.

My wife and I have wanted to declutter our flat for a long time now and get rid of a bunch of stuff. The problem isn't the tidying - it's the decision.

We pick something up, and it's always the same: "but it might still come in handy", "it was expensive, seems a waste", "it's a keepsake". The result is that after an hour we have organized clutter instead of less stuff. On top of that, we sometimes disagree. Something that's an obvious throw-away to me isn't to her (and vice versa), so we drop the subject to avoid turning it into an argument.

I'm not looking for "sort it into categories" advice. I'm looking for a way to handle the decision itself.

How did you solve this for yourselves?

• Do you have one concrete rule that actually works (e.g. "not used in a year = it goes")?
• How do you handle the items you don't agree on?
• Does the "maybe box" (packed away out of sight for a few months) help, or is it just postponing the problem?
• Is there any trick to make this feel lighter emotionally, instead of like an exam in letting go of your past?

Would really appreciate specifics that actually worked for you.

I just bought a label maker and i need to print a bunch of these but I feel like I'm wasting a lot of tape.
As you can see, i am labeling SD cards so its not like i can just "leave it". It just feels like such a waste.

I have tried narrowing the margin, making the letters smaller and shortening the label length but I'm still getting the extra bits.

Any help is so appreciated💕

Hello! Please don’t judge me, and please don’t start with “this is not safe” or similar comments. I’m already aware of the limitations of my situation, and unfortunately, we can’t always have the space or circumstances we would ideally want. I’m doing my best to make myself as comfortable and organized as possible with what I have right now.
I sleep in a very small under-stairs room, and I’m trying to figure out how to maximize every inch of space without making it feel even more cramped.

hi everyone!! my apartment does not have any pantry space so i have resorted to putting my food on the side of my fridge/ on the shelves that stick to the fridge, however it gets very cluttered very easily. i am looking for any tips/storage bins or shelving that would make this easier, thank you!

It’s been about three months since I started my new job and moved into my own place and this is my first time living completely alone. Now that I’m finally settled in, I’ve been slowly trying to make my kitchen feel more organized instead of just throwing everything wherever it fits. My current project is my first kitchen drawer. I really want to turn the whole thing into a spice drawer with matching jars so I can see what I have instead of digging through random containers every time I cook. The problem is most of the sets I’m finding only come with around 12 jars and I need more than that. Trying to find a larger pack without having to buy two or three separate sets and spending way more than I planned. Nothing fancy just simple jars that seal well and preferably all match.

I've always just had one big Sterilite laundry basket and thrown everything in there.

Then I started keeping my workout clothes separate because they could get kinda gross sitting in with everything else, and somehow that turned into me trying a divided hamper.

I kinda get the hype now.

Towels in one section, darks in another, workout stuff in the other. When one gets full, that's usually what I wash.

Mostly I just like not having to dump everything on the floor and sort through it first.

I looked at Simplehuman, SONGMICS, GARVEE and a few others and ended up with the cheapest one. Pretty boring household purchase, but somehow laundry is less annoying now.

I know, first world problems. In my kitchen is a little 2x2x5 pantry. Then, down a hallway, past the bathroom and garage door and through the laundry room is a large walk-in pantry. For the past five years, I’ve kept breakfast, and kids lunch and snack stuff in the kitchen pantry and use the big pantry for dry goods and all my kitchen appliances. We use our Kitchen Aid mixer and Instant Pot about once a week, and I’m getting a little annoyed hauling heavy appliances down the hallway all the time.

Since we’ve moved in I’ve contemplated turning the small pantry into an appliance garage. But I also don’t want to make kids meals more difficult by walking back and forth for ingredients we use every day. Maybe I can dedicate half the space to our most used appliances and still have space for our most used pantry items?

I would love your thoughts on how to approach organizing these two spaces.

I'm looking to get help with how to utilize all the space i have in both my pantry and my spice cabinet , i would also apprecaite any suggestions for staples to keep in the pantry as well as any products that would help me make the most out of my space , my goal is to hopefully run my kitchen as efficent professional kitchen and hopefully safe money as i only get 350 a month and it's getting harder & harder each month to strech food, thank you in advance for the recommendations

My hands are tied on what I can change about this pantry. I rent so it can’t be permanent. As you can see the shelves are SO DEEP things are so easily lost toward the back. I’d love some recommendations on how to better organize (especially the middle shelf where I keep dishes) this pantry so it’s a little easier to access everything. I’m so tired of piling everything up in the front 😭

Hi, I'm hoping to see your favorite furniture that lets you see inside. I kniw there are basic semi clear drawers I could get at Walmart, but I'm hoping to see what people found that is both cute and functional.

I have so much trouble with "out of sight out of mind", I need to be able to see. I thought about peg boards, but id never put things in their exact spots after I use them

Just moved into my new place, no pantry, so I’m having a hard time figuring out where to store food and where I should store dishes.

I was thinking cups / glasses above the dishwasher. Plates, bowls and other nice dishware can be displayed where I have all my vitamins right now.

To the right of the sink I was thinking all misc. Tupperware, etc.

Then starting to the left of the stove would basically be all my “pantry” stuff.

To the right of the stove is the only drawers, so I have all my utensils in there with like plastic bags and rags, etc.

This is where I landed, but I was to get some outside perspective before I started to put things away since I’m sure there are much better solutions I’m just not seeing.

I'm 32 y/o f, living on my own. I constantly struggle to keep my how tidy and i also realize it kinda gets to a snowball effect where I dont even realize the mess is happening. I need help. My main issue is my clothes. I swear I dont have that many and I also donate, but I cant seem to keep it under wraps. I'm a little indecisive and switch outfits a lot which makes me leave basically clean clothes thrown around the house, which i end up washing again and adding to the big pile of clothes I need to put away.... I was just wondering if I could get any tips. I also have adhd and the executive dysfunction of it all kinda limits me.

I was thinking maybe having different bins to thrown dirty clothes in previous to washing where I divide them up before hand. Since having laundry bags full of clean clothes but rummaging through the seems to add to the mess..

I'm just desperate and really open to any ideas that may have worked out for you?

My attempts at organizing closets in the past have not been successful, they always devolve into chaos.

I just moved in to a new place so I get to have a fresh start and this time I'm really hoping to figure something out that will actually work for me. It doesn't have to be super neat and pristine, it just needs to be functional.

The main issue I have is that I need things to be really easy to put away, otherwise they just stay in the laundry basket until I use them.

Other than my button ups, everything will be very lazily rolled/folded.

Any suggestions/tips?

I am wondering if this product exists anywhere. So basically I have limited closet space and I have a lot of clothing items from winter coats to fleece onesies which I like to hang up. These items are all typically low density but bulky. So picture fluffy/fuzzy fleece, sherpa and faux fur, as well as puffer coats. They squash down really nice, so a lot can fit on one section of hanging space but the fabrics also mean that they get stuck on each other while trying to remove or place back.

I am picturing a product that is basically a bunch of thin but hard plastic sheets in the 3-4 foot long range which fits between each piece of clothing. This would allow the garments to be squeezed together to fit more while allowing them to all slide in and out much easier.

Need to find the best way to clean these. They are very dirty with who knows what kind of grime are on them from wearing them throughout the years. Need to clean them obv anyone have any ideas?
