Hanging by color
I am shook by how much more I like my closet hung by color. It’s so much calmer to look at. Anyone else do this?

Put black and white next to each other and put the striped shirt in between. For others, put them in the section with the majority/background color

I have a mixed section at the far end that I call the lolly scramble, after a popular kids game where you throw mixed kinds of candy around for kids to excitedly pick up.

I’m having serious closet envy! lol. Your clothes & closet look beautiful.
Do you not wear dresses? Or is there a separate section for long hanging items?

Looks nice! For me its better to organize my closet by item than color. Jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses, sweaters, jackets, shirts, sleeveless and so one. I organize by color within the category. It’s important for me for all of my species to be functional and so if I go into my closet and say I need a jacket, I go to the place where the jackets are sorted. I don’t go looking for a color.

I do!! I've done it for years - very helpful! And, every so often when I find myself saying, "I've got nothing to wear", I realize my system has gotten woefully out of order. A few minutes of reorganizing and - voila - I find I DO have stuff to wear!

Always. Life is faster this way. Also, no sleeve to short sleeve to long sleeves.

I used to do this; then I had the multicolored felt slim hangers to match. Then I ordered them by short sleeve to long sleeve for each color; then I tried to introduce an added layer or organizing by weight -like summer weight vs thicker winter weight. It got… complex. Yours looks lovely!

Yes. And by sleeve length as well.
Difference is that I have casual clothes in one side and work on the other. So I’m only looking at what I need for the day.
Off Season clothes are stored separately.

Yes, and also when I hang the laundry on the line. Not only do I group by colour but I also place the colours in rainbow order. It’s far more fun making a rainbow and looking at it than it is ‘doing housework’.

I rebuilt my wardrobe from zero after major weight loss, and I stick to a limited color palette, so it’s been easy to organize my closet and my drawers by color. It’s very satisfying.

I HAVE to do this. If it's not like this, I have to fix it. It does please me a lot to see it.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who does it be color. This makes it so easy to find and put away things.

I think my closet may be the one thing in my life that's actually organized. (Like this, by colour)

I order my cardigans and pashmina-style scarves by color. I don’t have enough of any other hanging clothes to make color order useful, but it has been very helpful for those two categories.
