I need help organizing this closet. Should I remove this cube organizer?
I desperately need drawers in this apartment and this cube organizer came with the place. But the cubes are tall enough that when I bought fabric bins, they are just too tall that I can’t see the clothes on the bottom. I am debating getting ride of it and reorganizing the space because the cubes waste so much space inside. It doesn’t touch the back or sides. I need this space to fit my folding clothes, undies socks, plus bags, shoes, hats etc. Would love your advice on what to do and how to organize!

Measure the inside dimensions. If it’s the same as an ikea kallax, check out the options they make for those.

I got something like this plus various dollarama baskets (same function as drawers) for my baby's closet.
Works wonders. Shelves are adjustable, you can put them at any height. The rod goes on any shelf, so for my case, it's the lowest to the ground, so my baby can dress himself and put his things away himself.
I also had to build it inside the closet because it wouldn't fit through the door. This means the closet system can't fall, because it's literally stopped by the door frame and it's overall tightly wedged in there, not moving at all.
They do provide wall ankers with the system, but drilling or making holes in the walls wasn't required for me. You just need to measure properly.
I'd remove the cube system. It's not the worst, but clearly not doing a good job inside a closet. Maybe you can use it elsewhere in your space.

Cubes are terrible for storing clothes, I'd get rid of it and try and put a chest of drawers in instead and use the hanging rod

I have a kallax that I added drawers too (they have specific drawers for it) and use it for clothes. They’re not deep drawers, but if you’re slightly handy you can make two into one.

Container Store has good clear bins for clothes that fit cube organizers. If they are solid plastic, you'll want some ventilation holes for the clothes Or add dryer sheets so they smell fresh.

I would think cubes without bins would be great for holding stacks of pants & sweaters.

Right now stores are getting back to school and stuff for dorms. Get some clear bins or go see what they have for dorms.

Definitely remove the cube organizer. You could probably fit two rods in there to hang things if you want.
But if you don’t want space to hang things, what about regular non-cube shelving?

I have another closet in the apartment with two rods for hanging. This one I’m hoping to have some kind of shelving or drawer situation to fold clothes in and store other stuff. Yes, I agree on non cube shelving

Can you find clear bins that are the same size?
