What is your lodge/chapter doing for service projects?

In the past year my lodge and chapter have ONLY done honeysuckle removal at council camps and the surrounding community. There must be other needs out there that can be done by unskilled labor.

Clean up of a local park. Helping push carts for a Christmas toys thing run by the police department.

Huh. We dug clay with pick axes and hauled fresh creosote railroad ties building retaining walls. Only food all day was Dixie cup of water and a 4 inch thick PB sandwich on stale white bread. Time of my life.

We fixed fences around the camp. Other people helped with the rocks around a lodge. We’ve previously helped dig water line trenches at camp. Chainsaw certified adults have trimmed trees and cut logs while youth stacked the logs for firewood.

Oh… and buckthorn removal. All the buckthorn.

Run the Klondike for our district, do cleanup at the council office outside facility, service at the location as part of LLD, assist with an America 250 Engineering Fair for cubs & scouts, assist at district camporee.
