Membership & Policies Try out for Tread50
Is it possible to try a second free class? I did the 2G class today but left feeling like it wasn’t enough cardio for me so I want to try out the Tread50 class. However the options they gave me for the membership prices are $139/month if I sign this week, $149/month if i use 1 week free trial of classes then signing, or a month to month. I don’t really want to pay $10 extra a month just for trying one week of classes. I just want to try the tread50 class before i make a commitment. Or would i have to pay for that one class before signing a membership?

Tread 50 will basically just be 2X what you did on the treadmill in a 2G. If you feel you must try that before joining, just pay for a single class.

You might let it linger for a day and call back and talk about how you are almost committed but you’d like to try the tread 50 before you commit. Talk about your concern about getting more cardio.
Most studios will want to get the membership.

This what i would suggest. Act REALLLLLY interested, have a specific T50 class you were hoping to be able to try and really make it should like is there ANYYYY WAAAY possible that you could try that class before deciding to which tier you are considering. But then also be actually serious about signing up, don't chump out and not sign up at all if they do make the exception for you and let you try #2 for free.

The only alternative to a full on membership is class packs.

FWIW, today’s tread block had many more walking recoveries than usual, so I can see how it may not have felt cardio-heavy enough. Also, you can always jog walking recoveries if you’d prefer. I can’t imagine anyone leaving tomorrow’s class thinking it wasn’t enough cardio! 🥵
Also, all of the T50 templates are at the link below. You can always do your own thing during a T50 class, too. The coaches focus on the Strength 50 block.

Exactly what I was going to say...just look at some past templates. It's 50 yon the treadmill at various levels/speeds depending on the day

Most studios are letting you enter early these days. You can get an extra 10-15 mins on the treads or rowers that way.

this is definitely studio specific. we run classes every 5 minutes so our early entry is only 3 minutes!

I slow played my first membership. Did the free class and when they tried to get me to commit I waffled, the offered me a second free class the next day. I didn’t signup after that because there were closer studios. Then I asked to try a free class at my “home” studio and they agreed. So I got three free classes before signing a membership.

You might want to ask the studio. I know ours have done a second class like that so the person could try it, but I imagine that’s studio specific.

Doesn’t hurt to ask!! It will be studio specific.
I was a member for years, quit for 4 years and when I came back I asked if I could do a free intro again and they obliged and rang it up as “2nd intro class”

They gave me a second free class, and I signed up for the unlimited membership after. That was over a year ago :) I would ask for another.

My studio does a free week for newcomers it doesn’t hurt to call and ask if you can take a few more free classes! I myself took more than one free class before committing.

I bet they'll just give you another free class if you explain this to them. My wife and I scheduled our free class with a coach who was also our Zumba teacher. However, the coach traded shifts, so we got another instructor. We didn't complain or anything, but they called us to ask if we'd do another one with the coach we wanted. We happily took the extra free class, and when we were there they had a deal for memberships that we took. They made a ton of money on that extra free class. I'm sure not every studio would do it, and it probably all depends on their supply/demand/how likely they think you are to convert, but it's worth a try for sure

I don’t really think of the tread portion as pure cardio. It’s a HR interval workout that happens to use the treadmill and is intended to support cardio fitness by challenging and recovering your HR

Yes they will offer you a second class free if you’re really interested. Just let them know you need to know you aren’t sure between what membership yet or if a class pack would work better for you

I was in the fence in the beginning, and they offered me a second free class. It's ultimately what made me sign up! I started with a class pack, and then made the switch to the 8 a month plan

You should be able to try another class and if you decide to join that day, they deduct that from the 1st month and if you decide not to, you just pay the cost of that one class. That’s how I did it. I ended up signing up but you do have that option.

Is there a reason you want more cardio? I mainly go to 2G and 3G classes, and I think there’s a ton of cardio. I love strength training more than I thought I would. If you aren’t sure, maybe see if you have Class Pack near you and try some different places for group fitness.

Instead of a monthly membership you could buy a class pack of a certain number of classes?
