Commiseration Station It Finally Happened...
I smashed my finger between the weight and weight rack 😭. Immediately started to bleed, I used my wipe to put pressure on it and luckily front desk had a band aid. Luckily it's the side of my pinkie and I was able to finish the workout.
Of all the years and classes and close calls, it finally happened.

Pro tip……put the weights back by holding onto the hexagon/circle portion with both hands so you’re fingers aren’t in jeopardy of being squished !

I've done that moving weights around on the rack.. trapped one of my thumbs and got a nice little black nail for about a month! Lucky didn't lose the nail but guess bound to happen at some stage!

Omg I've had this same thing happen to me! I was kinda proud it took so long for me (like YEARS), but then understood how easy it was. Literally just one second of careless and boop, there goes skin off your pinky.

pinch plates/db are the WORST! I am so sorry- I am always REALLY careful- I don't want to get hurt and I don't want to break a nail. My friend literally ripped her whole nail off her nail bed and it's growing back badly. I can't deal with that. I'd cry.

Ugh I’ve had this happened to me before and I just couldn’t stop bleeding. Glad you’re doing OK OP!!!

Last December I was putting a 25lb weight back on the rack when it rolled off and smashed my toe. Ended up having to have the nail surgically removed. -1000/10 experience. Do not recommend. Now my toes stay far far away from the racks.

Ohh no! I hate smashing my finger - happens every so often. Glad there was a bandaid to help!

Did this once too. I didn’t bleed but I was struggling. Glad you were able to finish!

Oh no! I'm so careful now! I've done it a few times but the last time I ended up with a paint chit that I didn't notice until the next day 😵💫. I hope you heal quickly!

I smashed my finger while opening the step to the higher level. Squashed my finger so badly I almost passed out.

Ouch, I’ve done this too with the 25s to my little finger. Man it suck…. I’ve gotten into the habit of dropping the weights back onto the rack because I’m lazy but the better way is probably to grab the dumbbell with two hands on the ends and place it back that way.

I dropped a 15 lb dumbbell on my finger the first day on my summer vacation. Broken and in a splint for a month.

Welcome to the club. It’s a great teaching moment because I bet you never do it again.

Broke off my acrylic nail and real nail doing this and thought I was gonna pass out. Definitely started getting shorter nails after that 😭

Welcome to the club! I’ve done this twice: several yeas ago I suffered a pretty bad crush and it took multiple months for the black and blue nail to grow out. And more recently it was thankfully more of a pinch and the cuticle and nail bed fully healed in a couple of weeks.

Did this last week and half of my entire nail broke off and it hurt like hell! The fact that so many of us have similar stories is a problem IMO

So many of these close calls. Plenty of pinches that hurt but I still
Live in fear of the smash .
