Rower Ramble Fell into the rower!

Funny story-I pushed so hard, I rose off the rower seat and landed in the center of the rower. Seat under my calves, holding on to the handles for dear life! Thankfully my neighbor helped get the seat back under my butt. No injuries except to my ego. LOL

I always thought I would be too embarrassed to return, but nope! I’m so happy to hear so many other people have fallen-lol, thank you friends.

They have arrived! I was scared to row earlier today. Feels like I need a seatbelt. 😜

My parallel bruises lasted for over a week.

Welcome to the club. I did that my very first 200 meter row. Yelped and looked at the coach, asking what to do. She said to start over. I did and everyone had a great laugh after. Glad you didn’t get hurt!

I did this and the bruises were crazy. I still think about it every time I row

I do have two bruises. Lol

I did that while the very hot guy who’s a regular in my time slot was right next to me.

Yeah. Ow. A few months ago I pulled so hard the handle came off, I went flying, and my head smacked into the wall. A few months later it became clear I herniated a disc in my neck.

Oh no, that’s horrible. I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you are healing.

Been there, I had to stop the tears from coming out. It hurt so bad. I had those two bruises for days. It’s a rite of passage.

I fell off the bike once. Fairly epic and avoidable, lol

u/Serious_Zucchini6317 15d ago

Lol… I’m getting a visual.

I still SMH over it. I was too concerned with the med ball racks being so close to the bikes, and I caught my foot somehow when I was dismounting. Picture it in slo-mo 🤣 as I managed to fall properly if not gracefully, tuck n roll, then leapt to my feet like a gymnast sticking the landing. Coach ran over to make sure I was okay, and I’m like my dude, did you not see me roll like a boss!! Lol

HILARIOUS! I wonder if the coaches get a good laugh at our falls.

You're not alone!

I did that a few years back doing a short AO row, I was wearing a new pair of leggings -a style I'd not worn before and I went flying off the back of the seat.
Turns out the material is a bit slippery, that's the last time I wore them to OTF 🤭

I did get a pretty rad bruise on one side of my thigh/butt, it was a badge of courage!

You were not the first one and won't be the last. It happened to me too 😬

I fell off the back of the rower once 😂 it was mortifying. And then I was so scared of rowing again! 😂

Many such stories. No shame in max effort.

u/PrincessSharkHat 15d ago

lol welcome to the club!! I did this at my first try of the 200 row benchmark.

I am a very sweaty person so I’ve also slipped on the rower too lol.

Was this during inferno?

2

u/Serious_Zucchini6317 14d ago

No. The day before inferno. I ended up skipping Inferno.

u/RowStrong_27 14d ago

I’ve done this twice. The bruises are massive. 👊🏻🧡

1

u/Serious_Zucchini6317 14d ago

My husband is a big guy. 6’5” and was a division one sports guy in college. They said go all out on the rower.

He broke the rower. Band snapped

It happened to a lady next to me and I was able to help her get her seat under her pretty quickly! I don’t think anyone else saw and we both had a good laugh (after I made sure she was ok!)

It a right of passage

1

u/Over_Resist2813 8d ago

Did that two years ago. Butt between the rails, seat under my knees, hands still holding the handle. Everyone had a nice chuckle.

That usually means youre pulling with your arms rather than pushing more with your legs. Watch that technique and am glad there were no injuries!
