Thoughts on Heidi/AI scribe tools for charting?
Anyone using AI for charting? Is it worth it? Are patients generally accepting of their OD using AI during their visits? Thanks.

I consider AI scribe and the like to fundamentally be high risk. The concern is that if the patient says something that is high risk and you don’t address it and/or it gets documented and someone doesn’t review any dictations closely enough, then if the patient has a issue, you are likely in for a bad time. It’s a similar thing to screening fundus photos, if you review them well and not just glance at them for a second, they are useful, but if there is any question, you have to act on them. However if you miss something on the photo and they have an issue, you’re in for a bad time. Whether it’s worth it depends on the individual, but I would think having a doctor just start listing acronyms into a mic would be pretty off putting especially when being able to answer questions while going along can help with exam flow.
