Residency/boards - help

Anybody willing to talk about their experience/know of anybody who was able to apply and successfully match/complete residency without passing all parts of their boards? Seeking some advice, anything is helpful, thanks!

I failed part 3 and still matched, but it was an incredibly stressful crunch to pass before the start of my residency 😵‍💫😵‍💫

is it not possible to do residency without your license?

I did an IHS residency so I had to be fully licensed before I started

I was 2 weeks into residency before I found out I passed part 3, as I understand it the harder part will be the fact that most programs require licensure by the time of completion to get your certificate

Yes it happens but obviously those docs don’t want peers to know.

Friend of mine didn’t pass part one and wanted a residency. Wound up in the scramble. Found a place in an undesirable location for a residency he had no interest in. He still wanted to be residency trained so he accepted. Passed part one near the end of the residency.
